To all newly engaged, congratulations and have a great time planning your wedding. But here is the thing, how do you make the announcement to family and friends?

Well, engagement parties are becoming increasingly popular, they are the perfect way to announce the great news that a couple have decided to tie the knot. They are also the ideal time to introduce the two families, and to informally invite both friends and family to join in the celebrations and get to now each other early on in the planning process.

Engagement parties were traditionally hosted by the brides parents, but nowadays there are no set rules; you and your fiancé, the grooms parents, other relatives or even close friends may want to be the hosts, If the engagement is a surprise for the guests, the bride’s father or the groom traditionally makes a toast to announce the special news.

If you decide to send informal invitations they should be worded like these examples; Please join us to celebrate the engagement of…
Or in honour of….

Which ever way you both decide to announce your engagement, just enjoy the thrill of it all, I know I did.
