Boutique Souk Wedding

Having been to Morocco previously – were we had a real adventure we felt that it would be the perfect place to celebrate.  The people, the culture and the unique and welcoming atmosphere that Morocco offered was the perfect place for our families and friends to share our special day.  We always found the hospitality second to none and felt that this would be a wonderful experience for our guests who travelled from around the world to be there with us.

Boutique Souk Wedding

Throughout our 3 meetings with wedding planners – Boutique Souk, we short-listed locations and various options for food/music/entertainment/make-up, before finalizing our 2 day wedding weekend.  It was a perfect culmination of all of the unique and personalized details we had requested.

Rosena and Fred addressed all our requests, fulfilling them to the highest standard.  The guests had a fabulous time and through the efforts of the Boutique souks team, they not only had one of the most unique wedding experiences but also experienced the hospitality, culture and unique atmosphere that drew us to Morocco in the first place.

Day 1 – Rehearsal Dinner – Marrakech Riad Rooftop Supper with Indian Ceremony

Kathy and Rishi welcomed guests who had travelled from Ireland, Britain and the US with a traditional Moroccan supper on the rooftop of a Riad in the heart of the old medina of Marrakech. Rishi’s Indian culture was celebrated with a late night Indian ceremony arranged by his family, welcoming Kathy into his family.

Day 2 – Wedding Ceremony and Reception

Kathy and her maid of honour spent the morning having their hair and make-up done at the legendary La Mamounia hotel, before final preparations and dressing back at the wedding venue and hotel, which had been rented exclusively for their family and friends for the  weekend.

Ceremony and Reception

The late afternoon religious ceremony took place at the Church of Marrakech, which had been transformed with flowers, candles and an aisle length red carpet by Boutique Souk’s production and floral team. Kathy walked up the aisle to a soloist singing Ave Maria and the rest of the service was accompanied by the full Gospel choir of Marrakech, adding an African and festive flavour to the traditional ceremony.

Kathy chose a bright cheerful colour palette of red, fuschia and orange roses harvested from the hotel gardens. More than 8000 roses were used to decorate the church and reception with bursts of colour.

The couple left the of church in a Marrakech horse and carriage and joined their guests back at the hotel for a sunset champagne reception overlooking the rose gardens.

Guests were seated for dinner under the stars in a rustic traditional Moroccan riad filled with roses and candles on tall candleabras.

After dinner, guests were treated to a fireshow display before the ‘cutting’ of the cupcake tower cake. Bride and Groom led the dancing into the small hours to many Bollywood classics and remixes.

Quote from Bride:

We had set out to find a wonderful setting for our wedding and I am so grateful to Rosena and Fred for showing us our location on the outskirts of Marrakech, which for me was magical from the outset.

The beautiful settings which they decorated with stunning flowers, the wonderful mix of music , and the way in which they brought it all together truly made it a wonderful occasion – The weekend was everything I had hoped for and more.

It was our dream wedding and it would not have been possible without Boutique Souk!
