Seasons of Sugar: Brand New 2016 Cake Collection Unveiled by GC Couture

GC Couture Invited 5 Star Weddings to the fabulous Lanesborough Hotel this week, for the unveiling of their 2016 Cake Collection, ‘Seasons of Sugar’.

From November 1st, GC Couture’s beautiful new collection of artisan wedding cakes will be available for order, but we secured a sneak peak this week at the launch of the new line at the Lanesborough Hotel in London. GC Couture director, Marie Sinclair, and her team pride themselves on the couture design process they have lovingly put into the new line, which has resulted in an exemplary collection of on-trend cakes for 2016. The luxury design of each cake is evident immediately, in the intricate details crafted in icing, from snowflakes to spring blooms, in matte, glitter, and shimmering metallic tones. The event itself was simply spectacular; the hotel was decorated like a fairy woodland, with little lights peppered through trees, which created the most magical backdrop for GC Couture’s magnificent cakes. Renowned photographer John Nassari was on hand to capture the magic of the day and we’ve picked just some of our favourite images to show you:

Mixing classic and elegant wedding cake features such as towering tiers and pastel icing, with modern twists like bold shapes and daring asymmetry

Marie and the GC Couture team have come up with a design range that spans four seasons. And of course, it’s not just the look of the cakes that define them – the cakes will all be available in any one of GC Couture’s huge menu of flavours; there’s fruit cake for winter, cinnamon for autumn, pear for spring, and berries for summer… or whatever the bride and groom may desire, including several allergen and dietary requirement choices such as vegan, gluten free, and egg free.

Marie said of the collection; “While this year’s collection is quite eclectic in style, we wanted to maintain a unifying element of timeless, classic beauty. Many couples, while enjoying the unique statement element of our couture cakes, are very drawn to traditional shapes and designs. Our cakes our designed so that in years to come couples perusing old magazines will still gasp and say ‘that’s the one!’”
