First Class Fashion Week Show from Temperley

We already loved Alice Temperley’s beautiful SS 2016 bridal collection, but since seeing yesterday’s photographs from her runway show at London Fashion Week, we love it even more. As a set, the two collections fit together to complete the overall picture from Temperley’s design influences for next year’s collections. Paired with the LFW show, her bridal collection now comes to life with new insights; bold yellows, vivid cobalt blues, and clean crisp whites were accented with embroidery, studs, and mirrors. Huge florals and bold patterns call to mind the lively murals of south America, illuminating the Mexican/Aztec influences behind some key pieces of the bridal 2016 ensemble, particularly in the fittingly name Goddess dress.

Contrasting with these earthy, equatorial influences are traditional glamour elements of 20th Century costume. There are nipped waistlines of the 1950s, loose bias cut gowns of the ‘30s, and the high necklines and soft blousing of 1970s hippy style, as well as cascading lace and sequins fit for a duchess. All together, Temperley 2016 is a phenomenally beautiful landmark in the fashion and wedding industries. First class.
