Stay In Style At The Magnificent Palace Downtown Dubai

The next hotel we had the pleasure of visiting was The Palace Downtown.  This hotel has a striking design that reflects the Arabic influences in its themes and colours. The hotel is built on the edge of a lake and is on the Old Town Island.

I just loved this hotel it was simply stunning. From the first impression of driving through the long drive way with the most beautiful fountains with tiled features. Our bags were quickly whisked away, and was led into one of the many beautiful areas of the lobby to sample true Arabic hospitality of wonderful tea and fresh dates. Through the window from the lobby I saw the most beautiful red, gold Bedouin tents either side of the magnificent swimming pool.

We had been upgraded to a suite, and once I opened the door I was so shocked how amazing it was quite literally an apartment I could live in. It had a large lounge room, with a sizable kitchen with fridge and coffee machine, and guest bathroom.

The view from the balcony was of the swimming pool and the lake with the dancing fountains. No matter where you are in Dubai, one glimpse of the city skyline and you will spot at least a dozen architectural wonders that have made their way into the record books.

The bed was incomparable and so comfortable and the bathroom has to be one of the largest I have seen, with separate shower, bath as does all the luxury hotels we experienced.

I could quite have happily just stayed in the suite the entire time, so I had to really push myself to freshen up and see what the area had to offer. I loved to do a bit of shopping in the wonderful Souk next door for a few souvenirs and see the lovely local products. You must have a spot of lunch at Shakespeare and Co it is right next door and provides a cozy, chic ambience where we enjoyed an eclectic menu in the warm sunshine.
