Fancy getting married 1,000ft (305m) high in the sky? Well, you soon can as the Shangri-La In The Shard is due to open 6th May.
The new Shangri-La at The Shard will open on the 6th May 2014 , with the luxury hotel boasting unmatched views of London from the city’s most striking skyscraper.
As the tallest hotel in Western Europe and the first high-rise hotel in London, the Shangri – La occupies levels 34 to 52 of the 72-storey Shard.
Guests will be escorted in a high-speed elevator from the hotel’s dedicated entrance on St. Thomas Street to the sky lobby on level 35.
The unique venue on level 34 will host bespoke weddings, civil ceremonies and receptions for 20 to 160 guests.
The grand staircase and double-height windows behind it showcase exquisite views over London, providing a great backdrop for your wedding photographs.
The 202 rooms and suites all feature marble-clad bathrooms with heated floors, separate bathtubs and showers, Aqua di Parma toiletries and mirrors with integrated television screens.
Although the hotel will open in May, three signature suites will still be under development until September.
That includes the flagship Shangri-La Suite, with a sweeping 180-degree view of London taking in the Palace of Westminster, Big Ben, the Tower of London and River Thames.
