Review: The Marvelous Arch London

On a beautiful, sun drenched and crisp autumnal day we (my husband included) had the pleasure of visiting the gorgeous Georgian hotel called the “Arch London”. What can one say…..This splendid gem of a luxurious 5 star hotel will take your breath away.

The Arch London

It will take your breath away for many, many reasons and most of them carry that emotional factor of thoughtfulness, surprise, elation and being happy.

I found myself giggling like a little girl brought back into my childhood as the hotel staff have arranged little touches throughout our stay to make us feel very special and very welcome.

Little things like Jing tea, now, I love the Jing Tea brand, that was waiting for us in the sumptuous suite hotel provided.

I did the dance of joy when I discovered that the suite we stayed in (Abbey Suite) had beautifully arranged hand picked selection of classic novels. As a girl I used to love reading Wuthering Heights, Ms Bronte’s emotionally charged tale of love and revenge. I used to curl up with my book and a hot chocolate and sit by the fire, shut of the world and open my ears to Cathy and Heathcliff…Seeing that book took me back… And that started the excitement and joy of our stay at this magical hotel brought to you by me…Mirna Conway..

Now to the factual part…don’t worry, pics and emotions are included…..

This luxurious boutique hotel is tucked away in a quiet residential street in Marylebone and it a stone’s throw from Hyde Park, Bond Street and West End.

And, hotel is literally just across the street from Madonna’s London residence. As a teenager I was a huge fan and the obsession continued in later life. Another childhood check box ticked.

Hotel carries an aura of elegance with it’s marble and glass design right through to contemporary with specially curated collection of eye-catching artwork brought to you by best British artists. The corridor walls are adorned with character and as you walk along the corridor you can see black and white “Alphatecture” series of prints featuring very interesting and thought provoking letters of alphabet.

The Arch London

Arch spans over seven Grade II listed Georgian townhouses and two mews homes.it has 71 luxurious bedrooms and 11 sumptuous suites. Ladies and Gentlemen “Opulent ” being the operative word.

Hotel would be absolutely perfect for Bridal showers, wedding reception parties (hotel does not have a wedding licence for a ceremony) but it can certainly host reception drinks party. I absolutely loved “The Martini Library” with it’s decadent roaring fireplace, sumptuous chairs and opulent furnishings. It would be a perfect setting for SATC cocktail party. Library carries a very warm and welcoming feeling in luxury surroundings. I enjoyed a glass of champagne there and the place felt very cosy and special. If you are thinking of hosting a bridal shower or Afternoon tea for a “Bride to be” there you are in for a treat..

Priced at £25 per person or £38 (including a glass of bubbly), classic tea spread features mouth watering sandwiches such as: Roast Beef with watercress and crispy shallots, honey baked ham with piccallii, savoury delights such as chicken liver parfait with spiced fig chutney and Stilton cheese straws. On the sweet treats menu you can try delightful white chocolate strawberries, raspberry and champagne jelly with pistachio must and Vanilla buttermilk cupcakes and not to forget the utmost important , quintessentially British, mouth watering warm scones served with clotted cream and strawberry jam. Afternoon Tea is absolutely delightful and I would highly recommend.

We have had the pleasure of dining at Hotel’s A-la Carte restaurant called “hunter 486” named after 1950’s dialing code for Marylebone and it offers “Best of British” inspired menu by Head Chef Gary Durrant.

To say the food is ‘out of this world” is understatement. To say the food is orgasmic is better suited.

We tasted:Salt Beef Croquettes with horseradish Mayonnaise as a starter and it has the perfect balance of salty vs cool flavour of horseradish mayo. Full of flavour and just the right amount on the plate allows you to indulge later on.

STAR of the show was my main meal: Pumpkin Cannelloni with sage butter and toasted almonds and Parmesan. Oh boy, was I in for a treat. The sweetness of pumkin was beautifully complemented by toasted almonds. It was just perfection, I congratulate Mr Durrant on bringing almonds to this meal. Ladies and Gentlemen this fusion of flavours was pure perfection, explosion of delightful flavours and feelings of perfection washed over me, over and over again. I didn’t want this meal to finish lol. Parmesan was also a perfect friend to our cannelloni and almonds.

Last, but not least we ha Sticky Toffee Pudding with caramelised Banana ice cream. Ice cream reminded me of home. It was so fresh, home made and full of flavour, just like my mum used to make. Sticky Toffee Pudding was gorgeous non the less, very velvety rich and creamy….

This dining experience was truly an amazing love affair. If you are looking for a romantic and special meal (newlywed or not) I would highly recommend “ my love affair” In Hunter 486.

When it comes to accommodation Arch can do nothing wrong. We stayed at Abbey suite which offers ultimate contemporary 5 star boutique experience. Suite has a private outdoor terrace with large outdoor heaters perfect for a cosy hot chocolate on a cold Winter Day.

Suite has a huge four poster bed with built-in cabinet housing a large flat remote controlled TV screen. We were spoiled with a stylish kitchenette offering complimentary soft drinks from the mini bar, Nespresso Coffee Machine, little sweet treats (yes, I’ve had one or two)..

When it comes to bathrooms, Ladies, yes, we are all into luxury bathrooms with luxury bath tubs, perfect makeup lighting, huge showers, luxury Malin + Goetz toiletries….. This suite has it all. It even has built in flat screen TV at the foot of the bath. I felt pampered to the max. Makeup mirrors were perfect, lighting was fantastic for makeup application. I was hooked, I need this bathroom in my house…..
