This summer 5 Star Wedding Directory experienced one of Spain’s most beautiful and bespoke country retreats – a casa located in the foothills of Vejer de la Frontera. Restored by its interior designer owners, it is a beautiful boutique hotel of just eight stylish guest rooms.
Casa La Siesta is highly bespoke in its approach to everything and weddings are no exception. Only ten weddings are held each year to ensure the optimum standards of organisation are maintained. Don’t expect any pre-packaged deals, individuality and personal touches are key to what this team prides themselves on offering.
You can celebrate your marriage with a blessing at the Casa or after a religious ceremony at the stunning local church, located in the white hilltop village of Vejer de la Frontera. The Casa’s central courtyard is the hub of celebrations where food, fairylights and dancing are the backdrop to a husband and wife’s first evening.
The Casa can host up to 130 guests. Most weddings take place in the warmer months outside but if you prefer the cooler months between November and April, a marquee can be placed over the central courtyard.
If you’re a bit of a foodie, then this unassuming guest house will surprise couples and their guests no end with the fine dining standards of catering on offer. Enjoy a Cava reception with canapés, cakes, traditional 5J jamonero and 3 course dinner, including sensational wines from the area – one of the best winery regions in the world. Take advantage of an open bar, signature cocktails and a delicious choice of snacks after midnight to keep everyone in the dancing spirit.
Couples can take the Casa for a minimum of three nights and up to seven nights. The seven guest rooms and one Casita (a two bedroom self catering accommodation) are a wonderful option for families and friends to be all together before and after the big day.
The owners of this stunning retreat also run the British interior design company Bert and May. This means that no detail has been overlooked in their aim to create a warm and inviting but luxurious space throughout. Our Superior Suite was furnished with rural elegance – antique tiled floors, a roll top bath and french doors opening onto a private terrace and looking out over never-ending fields. If there is only one reason to stay in the rooms of this gorgeous guest house however, it would be for the guarantee that your first night would be spent in a seriously comfortable bed, dressed in luxurious linen.
Apart from being a stunning location overlooking the rolling hills of Cadiz, Casa La Siesta is a fabulous place to relax. Once the wedding celebrations are over, the hotel is a perfect base for those who simply want to lounge around the garden pool, laze in the quiet corners of the courtyard, explore the pretty nearby towns or experience one of the most virgin white beaches to be found in Spain.
As an adult-only hotel, guests will find staff are friendly and helpful but not intrusive of your time. The Casa’s environment is very much a home away from home with the addition of luxury facilities and services.
