There has been a notable increase in couples desiring to include their furry companions as integral members of their wedding celebrations. This growing trend reflects the deep emotional bond that people share with their pets and their desire to make their special day even more memorable by having their beloved dogs join in the festivities.

These four-legged family members are often seen donning adorable attire, serving as ring bearers, or simply adding an extra layer of warmth and joy to the wedding atmosphere. This trend not only symbolizes the importance of pets in our lives but also showcases the desire for a more inclusive and personal wedding experience, where cherished pets are cherished guests of honour, sharing in the love and happiness of the day.

5 Star Weddings is delighted to have the opportunity to have Pylewell Park, a luxury wedding venue located in Hampshire on hand to give our readers creative ideas and advice on how to incorporate your dog into your wedding ceremony.

Pylewell Park is recognised as a dog-friendly wedding venue, welcoming couples that wish to celebrate their special day with their furry companions. “We understand that pets are an essential part of many families and hold a special place in the hearts of our couples. At Pylewell Park, we provide a picturesque and spacious setting where dogs can be a part of your wedding, whether they walk you down the aisle, share in the joy of the ceremony, or simply enjoy the beautiful grounds during the celebration. Our goal is to make your wedding day as personalized and inclusive as possible, ensuring that all members of your family, including your four-legged friends can be present to witness and share in the love and happiness of your union”, comments Melanie Wright, Director of Weddings and Events at Pylewell Park.

We like to toss the traditional wedding rulebook out the window at Pylewell and ensure your day is utterly unique to you. Love has no limits and neither do we! We are animal-mad at Pylewell and love nothing more than our couples celebrating with their four-legged friend. From an early morning, dog walk down to the beach, ensuring your pooch is part of the ceremony walking you down the aisle or ensuring they are centre stage in some of your wedding photos- we are proudly dog friendly and the previous home of popular festival ‘Dogstival’.

Your dog is part of the family and so many couples cannot imagine their big day without their faithful four-legged friend by their side. From walking down the aisle with one of the flower girls or even alongside the bride, they can play an integral part in the ceremony, if you are brave enough you could encourage them to be your ring bearer and run up the aisle for the big moment. We always recommend your dog be on site the day before so they are comfortable with the venue and space and have time to get settled in. Having a designated ‘responsible’ person to oversee them all weekend is a great idea, as you will need to focus on the day ahead! We like to recommend a shady spot for their water bowl and bed so they have somewhere to relax throughout the day (we don’t like dehydrated dogs or guests!) and make sure they are popped safely back inside before the dinner, dancing and evening shenanigans. Your caterer will not appreciate a dog sneaking into the kitchen midst service!
