You may have considered Sri Lanka for a honeymoon but have you thought about its stunning backdrops for a wedding? Sri Lanka’s palm-fringed beaches and colonial style buildings are one of the prettiest and most exotic places to get married.

5 Star Wedding Directory took a  trip to Sri Lanka last year where we were hosted by the luxurious Villas In Sri Lanka – a premium villa company with a vast selection of properties which lend themselves perfectly to wedding venues.

If you would like your wedding to be held in this beautiful country, then Villas In Sri Lanka and their events arm, Galle Events can organise everything in order to create a memorable wedding day for you and your guests. Their little black book of contacts will ensure you have the best caterers and stylists in the area.

Three Wedding Villas In Sri Lanka

IMG 6440

If you are thinking about getting married abroad, it is more than likely you will have to think about accommodating at least your immediate family. Villas In Sri Lanka has a selection of striking oceanfront properties suitable for couples to hold their ceremony and reception. After the event, they can relax and enjoy the villa with family without having to worry about moving elsewhere.

We have handpicked three villas suitable for a couple and their family to hold an unforgettable wedding. Each has five ensuite bedrooms and as with all Villas In Sri Lanka properties, you will be looked after by a team of staff including your own chef and villa manager.

Indische Villa (Main Image)

Indische Villa truly has it all. A beachfront property that is just 20 mins from the Unesco World Heritage fort town of Galle. It has five ensuite bedrooms (sleeps 10) and is ideal for wedding parties that include children with its large garden, pool and climbing frame. The property is romantic, to say the least – draped four poster beds in a contemporary colonial setting and interior designed with Sri Lankan antiques. Couples could get married in the stunning grounds around the pool or on the beach which has private access.

Talalla House

One for modern couples who appreciate minimalist design and architecture amidst the contrast of lush tropical landscapes. This property is also perfect for beach lovers. Located on one of Sri Lanka’s most beautiful southern beaches, Dikwella – this would be a striking backdrop for a wedding. All five ensuite bedrooms face the ocean and there is a garden roof terrace to experience Sri Lanka’s sunsets. If you are staying on to honeymoon then this villa is a good base for a trip to Udawalawe National Safari Park – a sanctuary for wild animals including leopards and elephants.

Skye House

Skye House is another great beach house for big wedding families uniquely located on a turtle hatching beach near to historic Galle. This beach house is luxuriously decorated in traditional Sri Lankan style furnishings but with all the mod cons. Its large open plan living room is ideal for big groups and families with children will love the built in playground and bunk bedrooms. This is one of the largest beaches along the coast and would make a beautiful beach wedding setting.

These three villas are just a taster of the charming and luxurious properties provided by Villas In Sri Lanka. Our stay with them was unforgettable from the attention to detail in the properties to the impeccable service provided before and during our stay. Their teams will ensure you are completely relaxed and looked after whilst their chefs will make sure you are very well fed. Our favourite experiences of Sri Lankan food were the delicious homemade Sri Lankan curries and the beautifully colourful breakfast spreads. Not only did we enjoy a little slice of Sri Lankan life but we also came away rested and rejuvenated, something that every bride and groom will need and appreciate after the excitement of their big day.
