Graceful favours

Wedding favours. Gone are the days of sugared almonds in little chiffon pouches, with the arrival instead of more personal, cute, quirky and fun favours. A little thank you to your guests: favours are a great way to infuse your day with something thoughtful and personal.

There are a lot of ‘extras’ at weddings – sparklers, bubbles, petal confetti, polaroid guest books, photo booths, sweet bars, make-your-own stations… the list is endless and runs the risk of cramming your day so full of gimmicks to entertain the guests you lose sight of the day itself. So, I’ve gone back to the traditional to see how a simple, luxury gift can sometimes be the best way of raising a smile on your guests’ faces.

Something delicious

A simple bottle of something tasty is an exquisite and chic favour. Guests can take it away and enjoy it at home to remind them of your day. The same goes for luxury chocolates, although maybe they won’t last till the end of the day!

Something festive

What could be better than a Christmas cracker favour if you’re getting married close to Christmas? Choose a little something to pop inside and use them as part of the décor and as place names – multipurpose favours for the win!

Something to do

Brain teaser while you wait for your food? A little wooden puzzle is a fun way of keeping your guests entertained if there’s a quiet moment, and the perfect favour to show your personality if you’re into games!

Something thoughtful

Maybe there’s a charity close to your heart, or maybe you want to give back instead of giving out. Many organisations now offer wedding favours to show that you have made a donation instead of buying favours, and it’s a beautiful way of supporting worthy causes through your big day.

Something indulgent

A little coin purse, an engraved hip flask, a scented candle… There is nothing like a bit of luxury to make your guests feel thoroughly thanked for coming to your wedding.

Keep it personal, keep it simple and keep it fun. Your guests will love your favours! If you want more favour ideas, head to our gifts and favours page.
