at The Lanesborough Hotel

Wedding at The Lanesborough Hotel: The wedding was initially planned for January 2021 but was inevitably postponed due to Covid 19. With the ongoing uncertainty, the bride and groom decided to reschedule their celebration and had decided to elope with just two witnesses in London on 8th May. Fast forward to the end of April, when it was announced that the rules surrounding Covid 19 were to become more relaxed, the couple had a change of heart. Overnight, they decided that they needed an experienced luxury wedding planner to plan their intimate London wedding, a wedding that was scheduled to take place in less than two weeks!

Most couples spend an average of 12 – 18 months planning their wedding, but nothing is average about Planned for Perfection weddings. Earlier this year, when luxury Wedding Planner Jane Riddell was asked to plan an elegant London wedding in just nine days, she designed not only the most beautiful wedding, she did so in a global pandemic!

The only supplier that the couple had booked was London photographer Daria Photography, so they booked Planned for Perfection’s prestigious full planning, style and design service to ensure that their wedding dreams would come true the following week.

Jane and her team enlisted the assistance of some of London’s best wedding suppliers and worked tirelessly to design a beautifully elegant London wedding within a short time frame.

With the strict regulations in place within the UK at this time, only 15 guests could attend the wedding. Rules dictated that food had to be served outside to a table, so the stunning Presidential Suite Terrace at The Lanesborough was the perfect location to celebrate, especially as it is undercover, with protection from any Spring showers!

Located in the heart of Knightsbridge, the Lanesborough is a five-star hotel with an outstanding reputation for delicious food, and impeccable service and is an incredible London wedding venue. Situated close to Hyde Park, in the heart of our bustling capital, this grade II listed building is one of London’s finest venues. The hotel has 93 luxurious suites and bedrooms, a Michelin-starred Céleste restaurant, a vibrant library bar and garden room and the unique Presidential Suite.

The suite was booked for the bride for the morning of the wedding, where international Hair & Make-up artist Gemma Sutton looked after her. She enjoyed a relaxing few hours getting ready before the couple were married in an intimate ceremony in the Westminster Room at Old Marylebone Town Hall, accompanied by the Blue Topaz string quartet who played throughout the service. Then, everyone headed to The Lanesborough for lunch.

The guests entered the Presidential Suite, which was adjourned with beautiful blush pink florals, to reach the terrace. Guests took their seats at an impeccably dressed table complete with pretty florals in hues of blush pink, creams & white, cut crystal wine glasses, individual pink place cards and on each place setting sat heart-shaped boxes of Charbonnel et Walkers Champagne Truffles. Individual plated canapés and glasses of Champagne were served before guests were served a delectable wedding breakfast cooked by the hotel’s award-winning chefs.

Wild About created a cloud of flowers on antique gold stands, using blousy hydrangeas, pretty peonies, scented roses, stocks, lisianthus and wax flowers, which were teamed with gorgeous foliage for a beautiful statement piece. Along the centre of the table, cut glass and gold pots were placed to complement the tall arrangements, using delicately fragranced sweet peas and hyacinths, gold candlesticks, blush pink taper candles and gold t-lights. The opulent designs were a mixture of blush tones accented with gold and white details, which extended to the elegant dining table, where other soft pink, white and cream florals were added.

London cake designer Elizabeths Cake Emporium designed the gorgeous wedding cake. Handmade sugar flowers cascaded around three tiers of indulgent chocolate cake, with the couple’s initials written in gold on the middle tier.

Despite a global pandemic, this wedding was extraordinary, with all guests embracing the intimacy of a small wedding and celebrating the love of a special couple who have allowed their generic wedding images to be shared but have requested any images of the guests and themselves remain private.
