The entrance is striking, set within the historic Adria Palace, and there’s an immediate sense of elegance and quiet luxury.

But what I loved most was that moment before even heading up to the suite.

I found myself pausing, taking everything in.

A sweeping spiral staircase draws your eye down towards the ballroom and event spaces, instantly giving you a glimpse into the hotel’s potential for weddings and celebrations. It’s one of those spaces where you can already imagine the atmosphere… guests arriving, champagne flowing, the beginning of something special.

The Suite Experience

As I made my way up to my corner suite overlooking Fashion Street, the experience continued to feel considered and seamless.

The suite itself was everything you would expect from a five-star stay: spacious, elegant, and filled with natural light from the surrounding windows. The design felt calm and refined, creating a space that was both luxurious and incredibly comfortable.

The marble bathroom was a highlight. Finished beautifully with both a bath and a walk-in shower, and complete with Diptyque products, it felt indulgent without being overwhelming. Every detail had clearly been thought through.

It’s the kind of suite you don’t just stay in, you enjoy spending time in.

Interiors That Truly Impress

As I explored the hotel further, the design continued to reveal itself in layers.

The lobby is, quite simply, breathtaking.

A magnificent glass dome ceiling sits above, with intricate stained glass and a statement chandelier that immediately captures your attention. It’s elegant and grand, yet still feels welcoming.

Guests are greeted with Arabic coffee and dates, a beautiful touch that adds warmth and a sense of hospitality from the very beginning.

Velvet Bar: A Moment to Pause

One of my favourite moments during my stay was afternoon tea at Velvet Bar.

With its own private entrance, it feels like a hidden space within the hotel.

Inside, rich green and deep red velvet tones create an atmosphere that is both intimate and luxurious. The textures, the lighting, the details, everything feels carefully curated.

And then the cakes…

From apple to salted caramel and coffee cake, each one was almost too pretty to eat. Beautifully presented, delicate, and indulgent, it felt like a true experience rather than just afternoon tea.

A Space to Reset

The spa offers a completely different energy, calm, and filled with natural light from the glass ceiling above.

Soft music plays in the background, creating a tranquil environment that feels perfect before a wedding, after a long day exploring, or simply as a moment to pause.

What truly brings everything together, however, is the service.

Standing proudly above one of London’s most prestigious addresses, London Hilton on Park Lane is an icon on the city skyline, and following its recent renovation, I couldn’t wait to experience it for myself after being invited to discover its new look. Rising 28 floors above Park Lane and overlooking Hyde Park, the hotel immediately makes an impression. It’s one of those buildings you’ve seen countless times, but stepping inside is something else entirely.

From the moment we arrived, we were warmly welcomed by the doorman and guided through the revolving doors into a lobby that felt effortlessly luxurious. Soft lighting, elegant finishes, and a calm, refined atmosphere created that instant feeling of “we’ve arrived”, the kind of first impression every luxury hotel should deliver.

First Impressions & Executive Lounge

While waiting for our suite, we were invited to the Executive Lounge, which was such a lovely way to begin the experience.

The team were incredibly welcoming, offering us coffee as we relaxed and took in the sweeping views across Park Lane and Hyde Park. It felt calm, exclusive, yet completely unpretentious, a space you could easily spend hours in without realising. It’s these small moments that set the tone.

The Oxford Suite: A Stay to Remember

Not long after, our suite was ready… and honestly, wow. We stayed in the Oxford Suite on the 26th floor, and I can genuinely say it’s one of the most impressive suites I’ve experienced.

From the moment you walk in, the sense of space is striking. A long, elegant entrance hallway leads you through the suite, instantly creating a sense of privacy and occasion, perfect for a wedding stay or special celebration. To the left, a guest bathroom adds a practical yet thoughtful touch before the suite opens up into the main living space.

And this is where it truly shines. The lounge felt incredibly homely, yet elevated. Warm gold lighting, soft textures, plush carpets, and a palette of creams layered with bold black-and-white artwork created a space that felt both stylish and comfortable. There’s also a small kitchen area, which makes the suite feel even more livable.

But it’s the views that completely steal the show. From the 26th floor, you’re looking out across Hyde Park, with the lake glistening in the distance, one of those views you just don’t get tired of. I’m not even sure photos would fully do it justice.

The Details That Made It Personal

Waiting for us was a bottle of champagne on ice and a handwritten welcome card, already a beautiful touch. But then came something I’ve never experienced before. A glass dome sat elegantly in the suite, and when lifted, revealed a chocolate cake with a printed press image reading “Yasmine checks in”. I honestly smiled straight away; it was such a thoughtful, creative detail, and those moments really stay with you.

Bedroom, Dressing Room & Bathroom

The suite continues to impress in every corner. The dressing room is spacious and beautifully designed, complete with incredible views and luxury touches like a Dyson hairdryer, practical yet elevated. The bedroom feels calm, warm, and inviting. A plush velvet headboard, soft neutral tones, and gold accents create a space that feels both indulgent and relaxing.

Waking up here, with those views, is something special. Then there’s the bathroom, and it really is a standout. A large bathtub with Penhaligon’s Halfeti products adds that classic British luxury touch, while a button beside the bath allows you to change the mood lighting, perfect for unwinding in the evening.

There’s also a separate steam shower, double sinks, and plenty of space, ideal for getting ready for a wedding or special event. Honestly, it’s the kind of suite you could happily stay in all day… I didn’t really want to leave.

Dining at Park Corner Brasserie

After a walk through Mayfair and Hyde Park, we returned to the hotel to get ready for dinner. We started with pre-dinner canapés and champagne in the Executive Lounge before heading to Park Corner Brasserie, the hotel’s modern British restaurant overlooking the park.

The setting is elegant yet relaxed, with a contemporary feel that suits its Park Lane location perfectly. We began with a signature margarita, followed by a selection of dishes including salt and pepper squid, slow-cooked pork belly, crispy orzo rice balls, and lobster linguine. Dessert was a highlight, a trio of crème brûlée with different flavours, with pistachio being my personal favourite. The service throughout felt seamless, warm, and genuinely attentive.

London by Night

One of the standout moments of the stay had to be heading up to the 28th floor after dinner. Seeing London lit up at night from that height is something special; the city feels alive, vibrant, and endlessly beautiful. The atmosphere up there, especially around Shanghai Me, adds a completely different energy, stylish, lively, and effortlessly cool.

A Restful Night & Morning

Returning to the suite, it had been beautifully turned down, ready for the perfect night’s sleep. And the bed? Incredibly comfortable. In the morning, we enjoyed breakfast back at Park Corner Brasserie, a relaxed and elegant way to start the day before checking out.

Dinner at ONA was a highlight of the stay. This intimate restaurant celebrates Mediterranean cuisine at its finest, with dishes created from locally sourced ingredients and a deep respect for tradition. The name “ONA,” meaning “wave” in Catalan, perfectly embodies the flow between land and sea, ingredient and flame, tradition and modernity.

Highlights included:

• Wild Mushrooms & Red Prawn – silky mushroom espuma with perfectly cooked red prawn, mushroom powder, and black garlic parsnip cream.

When it comes to choosing a venue for your wedding, it often depends on whether you would like something traditional or something modern, but what if you could combine the two?  Cowley Manor in The Cotswolds offers contemporary couples a backdrop of modern interiors within a beautiful 19th-century Italianate Villa.  The typically English Cotswold countryside location means that wedding photographs at Cowley are full of colour and character.

We had heard a great deal about Cowley Manor prior to our visit.  It is part of a boutique collection of properties called A Curious Group of Hotels, all designed with cool yet comfortable luxury interiors in mind.

Arriving at Cowley Manor holds an element of surprise and excitement that every bride and groom want their guests to feel when attending a wedding.  The property is tucked away in the corner of the countryside and sits regal but understated in its grounds.  Guests wouldn’t be wrong in expecting a classic country style affair, with all the pomp of a traditional English wedding, but attending an event at Cowley comes with a twist.  Swap conventional country home interiors with bright pops of colour, mid-century modern furniture, and a stunning collection of the owners’ independently picked contemporary artwork.

Weddings at Cowley Manor are booked on exclusive use so that you and your guests can enjoy the entire property and its facilities – that is 30 bedrooms, the gardens, main house and stable block (excludes C-side spa).  Couples can either be married in the hotel or in St Mary’s Church ,which conveniently sits in the grounds of Cowley Manor.

The hotel’s sitting room was definitely one of our favourite spaces – a large and light-filled lounge with a traditional log fire and views out onto the landscaped gardens.  Eat, chat and relax seemed to be the order of the day as afternoon tea was served on the cosy armchairs and sofas.

The bride and groom stay for free in the Best Room, which has a four-poster bed and a huge terrace with views overlooking the lake and woodland.  Both rooms and bathrooms are spacious, providing ample space for brides to get ready with their family and friends.

The rooms are also warm and cosy, with Nespresso machines, Green & Spring toiletries, a complimentary mini-bar, and delicious biscuit treats, among other amenities.

The award-winning C-Side spa is another welcome surprise for any guest of Cowley Manor.  In grounds separate from the main building, the pool is a beautiful glass space flooded with natural light, perfect for prepping before the big day or recuperating afterwards.  The spa uses Green & Spring products – a range of products created by Cowley themselves using herbs and flowers native to the British Isles – they smell divine.  Wedding guests are encouraged to experience the spa and will receive 20% off treatments during their stay.

Your wedding breakfast is served in Malt restaurant – an atmospheric dining room where delicious seasonal food is served under a ceiling of sparkling pendant lights.  It’s truly beautiful and makes a wonderful setting for entertaining guests.

The hotel’s normal dinner menu is here – we had the beef and celebration of lamb, dishes which were cooked to perfection and served with a variety of side dishes.  Our dessert, however, was a real showstopper.  The Malteser – a chocolatey ball of heaven which aesthetically melts inside itself on pouring its accompanying sauce all over it.  Good food and entertainment all round.

During our stay at Cowley Manor, the staff were impeccable – friendly and open but equally efficient.  Choosing your wedding here is not just about the great location and venue; it’s also about creating an experience you and your guests will enjoy.  The space, colour palette, and facilities make it a great venue for modern family weddings that invite children.  At the same time, it is a boutique country hotel that would suit a sophisticated adult-only affair, where luxury and good service are appreciated.

We were invited to stay in one of the world’s most iconic hotels and, to be honest, excited was an understatement! Having recently stayed at the Dorchester Collection’s Coworth Park (see our review here), and have loved every second of it, to be visiting The Dorchester, queen of the Dorchester Collection, was simply a dream. I’d been to many events at The Dorchester, but this was the first time we had dined and stayed there, and we were in for a treat.

A firm favourite for celebrities through the ages, it was a wonderful feeling walking through the doors into the same space that Elizabeth Taylor had breezed through for her ‘White Diamonds’ perfume launch, and I wondered which suite it was that Louis Armstrong had famously stayed and played his trumpet in.

There is so much luxury history associated with the place and escorted to the Dorchester Suite, I wanted to take in all the beautiful details. Sinking into the plush, colourful, soft carpets is divine and the beautiful antique vases and ornaments make the hotel truly unique.

The Suite

Through an impressive door, we found our suite. At 124m², there’s plenty of space, and it is used to its fullest potential! The parquet flooring in the lobby leads you in and I was struck by the breathtaking view directly out onto Park lane, with Hyde Park in the distance; a classic London views from the most luxurious room. More gorgeous ornaments adorned the coffee table and we sank into the beautiful plump grey sofa, gorgeously soft and inviting, especially on a grey and rainy bank holiday weekend. There was no reason to venture out, so we stayed and enjoyed our little slice of Dorchester luxury.

The suite has a really good size dining table – perfect for hosting an intimate family dinner, a hen party or just getting ready on the morning of your wedding. An impressive fireplace and plenty of comfy seating would make this a really good space for a little get together.

The bedroom featured one of my favourite hotel beds; a four poster with an exquisite silk canopy, the softest linen and pillows you simply sink into. I don’t usually sleep with three pillows, but trust me, you would definitely make an exception for The Dorchester’s cloud-like pillows. With plenty of space for reclining on the chaise longue and a beautiful writing desk, the room was calm, relaxing and elegant. And I could spend hours just whiling away the time curled up in the bedroom’s window seat, people-watching from a comfy, peaceful nook.

A beautiful white marble-clad bathroom held a sunken bath, apparently the deepest and fastest filling in London, and acute Dorchester duck and wonderful Dorchester toiletries tempted us to try it out!

Of course, the Dorchester Suite comes with a butler, who is on call to tend to your every need. We heard that requests have ranged from sourcing the best seats at football matches to find a dog breeder! Whilst we didn’t have any similar requests, I was quite tempted to ask them to call a few of the luxury fashion houses they have on speed dial to do a bit of after-hours shopping… Selfridges, Harvey Nichols and Liberty are well used to calls from The Dorchester. We made do with the fresh apples from an orchard in Devon and the delicious chocolate lollies that he brought as a lovely treat.

Dinner

Our dinner was at The Grill, a marvellous restaurant of metallic and hand blew glass, and one of six places to eat. We went down early to soak in the atmosphere and watch the hotel transform seamlessly from day visitors to glamorous evening guests.

The Grill’s menu fuses classic flavours and exquisite ingredients with new and modern cooking, and the décor definitely fits the theme. The restaurant was established in 1931 and has undergone a few makeovers in its time. The most recent see it decked in zinc and copper, with pivoting panels to take it from daytime dining tonight, and an amazing hand-blown glass chandelier, which is simply stunning.

The service was polite, friendly and attentive, and starting with a gorgeous salmon taster dish we enjoyed Dorset crab with lemon and basil mayonnaise, gorgeous slices of bread and the most epic cottage pie I have ever tasted. The meat had been marinating for 20 hours and topped with rich, cheesy mashed potato, was like being hugged from the inside, so warm and comforting, a perfect antidote to the drizzly grey streets outside.

The talented sommelier made excellent wine recommendations for the courses, and we were then treated to a plethora of desserts which arrived at our table! A gorgeous lemon meringue tart and a grapefruit parfait were accompanied by a pretty chocolate lacework eggshell over a delicious chocolate creation as well as a mint and chocolate delicacy. Very decadent and almost too pretty to eat… almost…

Tea, coffee and petit fours completed our meal and we took the opportunity to take a little wander around the hotel before we made our way back to our suite and the wonderful turndown service. Lavender and chamomile spray for the pillows and slippers by the bed, I didn’t need more of an invitation to rest a weary head on three sumptuous pillows!

Breakfast

Breakfast was in The Promenade, a very grand area of the hotel with columns, gilding and marble, it’s rumoured to be as long as Nelson’s Column is high. Between us, we enjoyed avocado and eggs, a full English breakfast, sweet and savoury pastries and fresh fruit and juice, served by immaculately turned out waiters to the prettiest of tables. And then it was time to see the spa.

The Spa

On the ground floor, The Dorchester Spa is just as a spa should be; with blue walls and spring flowers, there’s an atmosphere of calm. Its white marble flooring and glittering chandelier set the tone for a perfectly relaxing morning as I was led through to the changing area and relaxation room. The spa has a wonderful steam room and rainforest shower – which I thoroughly enjoyed before heading off for a 60-minute aromatherapy massage with the lovely Roxana. White walls, relaxing lighting and a lovely calming environment made the massage like a true break from reality for those 60 minutes. Roxana was so caring and helped me choose the aromatherapy oils to relax and destress – perfect!

Sixty minutes went all too quickly, and I was ushered back to the relaxation room and a glass of coconut water and chocolate macarons along with a bag of treats to help continue the relaxation further!

Weddings at The Dorchester

After an incredibly soothing spa trip, it was time to find out more about a wedding at The Dorchester. Timelessly elegant and effortlessly glamorous, a wedding at The Dorchester is something special. From the grandeur of the Ballroom to the charming roof garden that hugs the Penthouse and Pavilion, you’re guaranteed a fairytale wedding.

The Ballroom

With 1930s Art Deco glamour, The Ballroom has its own private entrance off Park Lane. Crystal chandeliers and sweet Murano glass birds set against a white gold leaf ceiling – truly exquisite, it took my breath away. For a cocktail reception, this space can accommodate up to 1000 guests, but a more classic dinner dance wedding reception set up would limit you to 432.

The Crystal Suite

The Crystal Suite has its own sweeping staircase which reaches down to a private lobby as well as large windows which let natural light flood in. Beautiful crystal pendants throw light throughout the pretty space. This room can accommodate 50 for a dinner dance set up, but up to 120 for a cocktail reception.

The Penthouse and Pavilion

If you’re after something a little different, why not host your wedding up high? There’s more than a little theatre about this suite, based on the enchanting tale of Sleeping Beauty. The room’s baroque style was designed by theatrical designer Oliver Messel, creating a delightful, intriguing space and the roof terrace adds so much charm with water fountains and views over London. Perfect for intimate weddings of up to 34 guests.

The Orchid Room

Inspired by Wedgewood china, the pale blue hue of this room is so delicately elegant, it’s a perfect calm and private spot away from the main hotel areas. Catering for 120 for a dinner dance, it can cater for up to 250. Hung with crystal chandeliers amongst the iconic Wedgewood inspiration, it’s a stunning room, almost like a wedding in a beautifully elegant teacup!

Park Suite

If you want to follow in the footsteps of royalty, the Park Suite is the place to celebrate. It was here that Prince Philip held his bachelor party on the eve of his wedding, with the very same mural still hanging in place all these decades later. Catering for up to 50 for a classic wedding set up and up to 100 for cocktails, this room overlooks Hyde Park and benefits from gorgeous natural light.

The Dorchester has its own in-house floristry team, tailor making flower displays and taking care of all your floral requirements. They also have a vast knowledge of every type of entertainment you could wish for, with some high profile names on their contact list, so your wedding would definitely be one to remember.

Holland’s design delivered Palladian balance and restraint. A nine-bay façade in Bath stone, crowned by a tetrastyle Ionic portico, is deliberately positioned within a landscape engineered to feel like nature perfected. While Brown reshaped the land into sinuous lakes and rolling lawns, Holland introduced architectural features that would influence English neoclassicism, including the circular, double-height vestibule known as the tribune, later admired by Sir John Soane.
