A most rebellious and beautiful era of modern bridal wear is upon us. We just love the new Vera Wang Bride Fall 2016 Collection

Earlier this year we saw Vera Wang’s new direction with her gothic, delicate Spring 2016 line; spiderweb style lace, translucent silk, and fluttering ostrich feathers in luminous white accented with matte black finishes made for a dramatic line of modern gowns. Now we have the Fall 2016 collection too, a natural evolution from the lighter, ‘barely there’ spring dresses into more plush creations, with bountiful layers of silk and rich passimentarie detailing. There’s a subtle ‘80s nod in the shorter, tutu style hemlines of some of the gowns, and hints of the glamorous pre-grunge New York vibe of Madonna in the ‘Desperately Seeking Susan’ era. In fact, I think it’s safe to say that if Susan had decided to settle down and get married, she would have been wearing one of these dresses (but the film wouldn’t have been quite the same).

We can rely on Vera Wang to be a trailblazer when it comes to bridal collections, and the fall 2016 collection is far from mainstream. This is a true haute couture collection, befitting the boldest, most unconventional brides – who aren’t afraid to bare some flesh.

Happy anniversary, Sarah and Freddie! It’s 13 years to the day since Sarah Michelle Gellar and Freddie Prinze Jr tied the knot in a sweet, candlelit ceremony in Mexico. Sarah wore a strapless Vera Wang gown and a low Italian-style veil with a simple updo. For the latter half of the wedding day, Sarah dressed down into a lighter, floaty beach dress, while Freddie relaxed with his shirt untucked from his white, linen suit trousers.

For dress inspiration, we headed back to the source and found this gorgeous Vera Wang creation from the Fall 2015 collection; The Piper dress is strapless like Sarah’s, with a low back and detailed lace skirt. For brides planning a wedding

With the wedding season fasting approaching and gorgeous collections are a plenty, one

that I have been looking forward to seeing this year is the legendary Vera Wang.

Famed for her luxurious bridal gowns, has debuted her Spring 2015 Bridal collection with a new film titled “Chasing Alix.”

Directed by fast-rising fashion filmmaker and photographer Gordon Von Steiner, the one-and-a-half minute film stars A-list models Caroline Brasch Nielsen, Elisabeth Erm, Nastya Sten and Sophie Touchet.

“The opportunity to create a visual and expressive experience of the clothes, as interpreted by my fashion vision, is a whole new way for me to communicate with not only brides, but women everywhere” explained Wang.

“In this instance, bridal becomes the artistic vehicle to advance my love of fashion in general. I hope you will enjoy this new experience.”

Shot at La Selva Mansion on Long Island, the girls cavort in Wang’s slinky bridal designs to the minimalist soundtrack of Son Lux’s “Easy.”

Make-up duties were taken care of by Marla Belt and hair by Jimmy Paul. Von Steiner has previously created films for Vogue Italia, Lanvin and Chanel.
