Classic and Elegant Style Shoot At Ormesby Manor Norfolk

It will come as no surprise that ‘Classic and Elegant’ was very much the obvious brief for this luxury styled shoot at the exclusive use Ormesby Manor. Ideally situated in the heart of the Norfolk Broads National Park and within easy reach of the coast, the Manor is a Grade II listed building styled with hints of glamour and opulence while still welcoming and oozing relaxing comfort. It also proved the perfect base to showcase some of the best wedding suppliers in Norfolk as well as the opportunity to feature some unique touches that the county has to offer.

Local artist Kate Elgood provided the exquisite hand-finished Norfolk oyster shells that make the perfect bride and groom place settings and remind us how beauty can come from the unexpected, being tough on the outside but once cracked open reveal the most delicate palette of colours. Being gilt-edged, these shells from the local coastline perfectly echo the gold-rimmed charger plates and glassware on the tables provided by CMA Event Hire.

To keep the rest of the table light and elegant, the cut crystal tumblers disperse the light from our Molten Brown candles and additional gold highlights are brought to the table via the cutlery, gold-rimmed glassware and candlesticks, bringing the whole ensemble together. Gold was also introduced into the cake by Sugar Buttons and the stationery suite by Silk and Ink and with more high quality touches such as the handmade paper and round menu cards, the bespoke suite fitted the brief perfectly.

It is testament to the strength of the wealth of local talent coordinated by luxury wedding planner Emily Andrew of Emily Andrew Events that the project also attracted industry leaders from farther afield such as Molton Brown, Emmy London bridal shoes, menswear from Brigdens of Derby and international wedding photographer Stuart Wood with whom Emily worked closely to achieve a very specific look to the project.

Emily says that… “Set against such an iconic backdrop as Ormesby Manor, we really needed the finer details and quality from the finished images. With Stuart’s fine art style and precision shooting and ability to go further and get much more than a mere likeness of our happy couple, I knew that every element I curated would need to blend together to create a cohesive look. A relaxed but refined elegant style was always the overriding theme that we were determined to achieve. To also be able to include top luxury brands such as Molton Brown and Emmy London was always going to be an added bonus”

The flowers by Charlotte Staff were kept white and green to again blend with the other details and the venue. This project was very much about showing a combined effort across all the suppliers involved and how thoughtful details can enhance each element of a wedding. The lush greens and blousy white blooms added to the refined luxurious style and did not compete with any of Ormesby’s decor.

Two very different but complementary looks were created for our bride Olivia by makeup artist Stephanie Alexander to suit the texture and overall look of the dresses supplied by The Bottom Drawer Bridal. A sleek, glossy ponytail, keeping the hair away from the face with a soft wave throughout the ends and styled with a bow for an editorial finish and then for the sparkling dress, a glamorous Hollywood Wave was created for the ultimate elegance.

Keeping the skin clean, flawless and glowing for the makeup and creating a bolder eye shape for one look, was duly followed by a softer eye with beautiful warm pink and berry tones for the other.

These stylish and vibrant pictures of our luxury styled shoot, combined with both of the looks created for the fun and intimate images of our couple Tom and Olivia at this exclusive venue clearly illustrates how very traditional and yet cutting-edge modern can blend perfectly together for today’s celebrations when curated properly.
