My journey in the luxury floral and design industry began with a spark of inspiration from articles about weddings in newspapers. As an aeronautical engineering graduate, I found myself drawn to the intricate interplay of flowers, drapes, and lighting.
This fascination blossomed into a passion for event styling, leading me to found Teddy Manuel Flowers and Events. Over two decades, I’ve had the honor of serving esteemed clients, including corporate leaders and celebrities, with extravagant and breathtaking designs.
2. Can you tell us about one of the stand-out wedding designs you have created?
One of the standout wedding designs I crafted was a Filipino-themed celebration. We showcased the rich heritage through traditional textiles like “banig” and “Solihiya.” The venue bloomed with native flowers like Sampaguita and orchids, echoing our tropical landscapes. Inspiration for designing a wedding can be found everywhere, from nature’s delicate balance to art’s boundless creativity. I draw inspiration from the couple’s love story, personalities, and vision for their special day.
It’s about infusing their essence into every detail, creating a celebration that resonates with their unique journey.
4. What advice would you give to those starting in the wedding industry?
My advice for those starting in the wedding industry is to embrace your passion wholeheartedly. Dedication, originality, and attention to detail are key ingredients for success. Keep learning, stay true to your vision, and always prioritize the client’s dreams and aspirations.

My favourite part of working in the wedding and event industry is witnessing the sheer joy and happiness on my client’s faces. Being entrusted with bringing their dreams to life is incredibly rewarding.

6. What are your go-to indulgences when you treat yourself, and how do you unwind and relax after a busy day?
My go-to indulgences when I treat myself include immersing myself in different cultures through travel, indulging in culinary delights, and savouring moments of quiet reflection. After a busy day, I unwind by surrounding myself with loved ones, indulging in leisurely activities, and finding solace in the beauty of nature.
7. What are your goals or aspirations for the future?
In the coming years, I aim to enhance the stature of Teddy Manuel Flowers and Events, extending our influence nationally and internationally.
My vision involves persistently pushing creative limits and sculpting immersive experiences that resonate with clients and guests. Additionally, I look forward to conducting annual masterclasses and workshops, nurturing aspiring stylists to bring out their best in the dynamic world of event styling.
8. What is the best piece of advice you have been given?
The best piece of advice I’ve been given is to always stay true to myself and my vision. Throughout my journey as an event stylist, I’ve encountered numerous challenges and opportunities, but I’ve learned that authenticity is key to success.
By remaining true to my passion, values, and creative instincts, I’ve been able to carve out a unique path in the industry and create experiences that resonate with clients and guests alike. This advice has served as my guiding light, empowering me to navigate the complexities of the industry while staying grounded in my purpose.
9. If you could invite any three people, living or dead, to a dinner party, who would you choose and why?
If I could invite any three people to a dinner party, I would choose Leonardo da Vinci for his unparalleled creativity, Coco Chanel for her revolutionary influence in design, and Audrey Hepburn for her timeless elegance and humanitarian spirit.
Moreover, I would also extend an honorary invitation to my late mother, my greatest supporter and source of strength, whose presence would enrich the evening with love and cherished memories. Their diverse perspectives and remarkable achievements would make for captivating conversations and unforgettable memories.

In my opinion, a 5-star wedding is characterized by meticulous attention to detail, seamless execution, and an atmosphere of pure magic and romance.
