Sparklers, fairy lights or fireworks, if you want your wedding to have a little extra sparkle, lighting it up is such a fun way to create some shine. But do you choose to fill the place with scented, flickering candles or go for a light feature? Here are some of my favourite ways to light up you day.
1. Go big or go home
Big and bold, lit letters make a proper statement. They look great in a barn or warehouse – lighting a large space can be tricky – so letters or big neon signs are a great feature, and give an excellent focal point for fun photos too!
2. Add some fairy dust
Filling the room with twinkling fairy lights creates a magical wonderland, perfectly transforming a venue from day to night time wonderland. If you’re planning a night time wedding, why not create the aisle using strings of tiny lights?
Candles, candles and more candles! It might sound crazy, but stuffing a venue with traditional candles can create the most romantic atmosphere. Flickering candles in various sizes can be stacked in corners, hung in jars and placed on tables for a romantic glow and a gorgeous scent.
4. Go retro
Edison lights are really in style right now, and bare hanging bulbs make a great feature over tables, the dancefloor, off a wedding archway… again, really good for an industrial space, these also look great paired with flowers, to soften their shine.
Tech in weddings is really ramping up, so why not personalise your day with a gorgeous light projection – colour washes on the walls can fit with your palette, a bespoke template for your dancefloor or even moving projections on your cake or dress… the possibilities for projection are endless.
