Melissa & Chris are young professionals, living a fabulous life in London, building their careers, enjoying life in our capital city. After going out for 4 years and living together for the last year they were ready to move on to the next stage of their lives together and we got to help make that happen.<\/p>\n

Melissa\u2019s wedding inquiry email reached me in March 2015- – Melissa had undergone a serious spinal operation so beginning the early stages of their wedding planning went some way to providing a pleasant distraction.<\/p>\n

Melissa chose to recuperate at her parent\u2019s home in Yorkshire which also happened to be where destiny first brought Melissa and Chris together where they worked for the same publishing company in Leeds.<\/p>\n

It was months later when I met up with Melissa after she returned home to their trendy apartment in Shad Thames, an area of London I absolutely love and over coffee I learnt of their wedding vision – an intimate and private ceremony to be shared with their closest family and friends. One of Melissa\u2019s sisters was married in France the year before in a very beautiful relaxed ceremony – the chilled intimacy of Melissa\u2019s sister\u2019s wedding was something both Chris and Melissa wished to emulate combined with their own style preferences and Sorrento – Italy was just the place to give them the opportunity.<\/p>\n

Both their parents had visited Sorrento and Chris and Melissa had often heard how much they had enjoyed the Sorrento Peninsula and Amalfi Coast – so in 2014 Chris and Melissa decided it was time to experience this well known and very popular destination for themselves – and of course they too fell in love with the pace of life, the food and of course the unforgettable atmosphere that characterise this part of the world.\u00a0\u00a0 They decided right then that this was the perfect place to host their wedding day.<\/p>\n

Chris & Melissa returned to Sorrento in October 2015 – using our escorted venue visit service they were able to see a selection of exclusive venues – we were thrilled to learn that they were completely bewitched by the superb Villa D\u2019Armiento – a chic and modern 9-bedroom villa hotel which would become their private villa for 3 day wonderful days of their wedding. It was an excellent and inspired choice for their accommodation allowing them the privacy to spend quality time with their families.<\/p>\n

For their wedding ceremony and reception Melissa and Chris were impressed by one of Sorrento\u2019s stylish wedding venues – the glamorous Villa Antiche Mura – these two unique villas provided contrast for their wedding day and as their wedding planner I was ecstatic to have such exquisite venues and professional staff to help bring their ideas to life.<\/p>\n

The wedding ceremony took place on Villa Antiche Mura\u2019s charming white infinity terrace, which offers breathtaking views across the sparkling Mediterranean waters to the Bay of Naples and Mount Vesuvius.<\/p>\n

The weather could not have been more perfect, the summer sun accompanied by a light breeze which carried with it the perfume aroma of the villa\u2019s flower gardens and lemon trees.<\/p>\n

It was incredibly important to Chris and Melissa that their family and guests receive an authentic Italian experience especially as some of their guests would only be in Sorrento for 48 hours to share their wedding day. As a special request we introduced some Italian wedding traditions to their ceremony that would present themselves at key stages.<\/p>\n

One of the things that stood out for me was their responses to the celebrant\u2019s questionnaire. The celebrant was able to dip into their history, thoughts and aspirations – the things that make them the couple they are to design a very personal wedding ceremony script.\u00a0\u00a0 How they met, the things they like and like to do – theirs is an relaxed, trusting and solid relationship – an easy relationship.<\/p>\n

We actually organised two \u201cI do\u201d moments for Chris & Melissa – a very intimate legal ceremony in Positano which involved the happy couple and both sets of parents and a symbolic ceremony at Villa Antiche Mura where their wider group of family and friends joined them in their commitment ceremony.<\/p>\n

They have wonderful role models in their parents something they wished to voice during the introduction to their ceremony. Melissa chose her two sisters as her gorgeous bridesmaids – there is clearly a special bond between the sisters that comes across in the photography.<\/p>\n

The increase in guest numbers from the initial 20 to double that number – I have no doubt is due to their popularity as individuals and as a couple.<\/p>\n

Melissa and Chris made sure their guests were well looked after – making everyone feel welcome from their pre-wedding Prosecco toast at Villa D\u2019Armiento – bringing everyone together; the glasses of ice-water made available to guests on their arrival at Villa Antiche Mura – keeping everyone cool and hydrated and comfortable\u2026.all indicative of this very thoughtful couple.<\/p>\n
