Walking into the reception of this award-winning heritage building, we find ourselves amidst beautifully rich, lacquered interiors, opulent crystal chandeliers, and deep-coloured velvet furnishings, all of which hint at typical Chinese d\u00e9cor but without being chintzy. The hotel&#8217;s world of sensuality gets you in the mood right from the start.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The suites are all uniquely designed and have distinct personalities, each with a seductive name: Splendour, Passion, Opulent, Lavish, and Swank. One of our favourite<br \/>suites, &#8216;Opulent&#8217;, provides an art deco hideaway with a striking, gold sunbeam headboard and vintage style furnishings in turquoise and gold. &#8216;Passion&#8217; is, of course, the honeymoon suite and doesn&#8217;t disappoint with its outdoor jacuzzi, four poster bed and fuchsia, silver and black colour scheme. &#8216;Splendour&#8217; is the most extensive suite, featuring interconnecting rooms, a lounge area, and two double beds. Due to its designation as a heritage building, many of the rooms have had to be left in their original state, allowing for some quirky and fun layouts, huge bay windows, and d\u00e9cor that is always bold, daring, and just slightly risqu\u00e9.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">If Singapore is your choice of a place to get married, then The Scarlet can even hold your wedding ceremony up on its pretty rooftop terrace, with all the splendour<br \/>of the hotel being framed by the city\u2019s skyline. Likewise, the rooftop bar makes a lovely Mediterranean-style reception venue with its marquees and lush landscaping, perfect for cocktails under the stars.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Singapore is a city with hundreds of years of Colonial and Asian history, often overshadowed by its fast-paced modern image, but this is now being remembered, valued, and preserved by the government. The Scarlet&#8217;s refurb reflects this with the exterior in a discreet dark grey and the balconies and many original features of this heritage building remaining intact.
