{"id":19758,"date":"2011-08-30T08:48:11","date_gmt":"2011-08-30T07:48:11","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.5starweddingmagazine.com\/?p=19758"},"modified":"2018-12-24T19:55:07","modified_gmt":"2018-12-24T19:55:07","slug":"wedding-weight-loss-bootcamps","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/5starweddingdirectory.com\/blog\/wedding-weight-loss-bootcamps\/","title":{"rendered":"5 Star Weddings Visits One Of The UK\u2019s Most Popular Celebrity Bootcamps"},"content":{"rendered":"<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong><em>Bride-to-Bootcamp:\u00a0<\/em><\/strong>If you\u2019re looking to get fit quick, shed a few pounds fast or simply set yourself a challenge, then the GI Jane Bootcamp could be exactly what you\u2019re looking for.\u00a0 Kerry Katona, Michelle Keegan and Abi Titmuss have all been \u2018GI Janed\u2019 with outstanding results.\u00a0 5 Star Weddings decided to see if the camp was really all it promised.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">We opted for a mid-week course of 5 days and four nights, a slightly shorter option than the 7-night course and a good place to start for those wanting to ease themselves in but get results.\u00a0 Situated in the beautiful Kent countryside (venues vary but are never more than an hour\u2019s train ride away from London), our boot camp base was at the homely country house of Sittingbourne Manor.\u00a0 We arrived with trepidation but the warm welcome from the GI Jane team soon settled our nerves.\u00a0 We joined another team of boot campers who had already been there for three days and so were able to give us the low-down on what to expect.\u00a0 Early starts(5.30am!), low-calorie meals and LOTS of exercises was what we signed up for and sure enough, GI Jane delivered.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/5starweddingdirectory.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/08\/gi-jane-1.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Gi Jane Bootcamp\" src=\"http:\/\/5starweddingdirectory.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/08\/gi-jane-1.jpg\" alt=\"Wedding Diets\" width=\"681\" height=\"492\" \/><noscript><img decoding=\"async\" title=\"Gi Jane Bootcamp\" src=\"http:\/\/5starweddingdirectory.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/08\/gi-jane-1.jpg\" alt=\"Wedding Diets\" width=\"681\" height=\"492\" \/><\/noscript><\/a><\/p>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: justify;\">The Food<\/h3>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">This was the part I think I feared the most, \u2018What if I get hungry?\u2019 especially with all that exercise! My normal diet has never been massively unhealthy but I do tend to eat when I feel like it, whether it\u2019s a Pret a Manger sandwich with vegetable crisps (hmm my favourite!) or a bowl of pasta and maybe even the odd chocolate bar thrown in as a \u2018pick me up\u2019 snack when I\u2019m wilting in the afternoons.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">So the idea of being on strict rations was daunting.\u00a0\u00a0 The daily menu consisted of three main meals and two snacks plus all the herbal\/decaf drinks we wanted.\u00a0 Thankfully, the food at GI Jane turned out to be delicious.\u00a0 A hearty breakfast of porridge and fresh fruits, lunchtime salads and evening stuffed peppers or jacket potatoes were served up as main meals while tangerines and mixed nut snacks kept us going in between.\u00a0 It is amazing how you realise it\u2019s not so much the food you\u2019re eating but the action of putting something in your mouth that you crave \u2013 this was definitely something I wanted to continue in my everyday life; not only was I feeling less of a lump but these foods were giving me way more energy.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/5starweddingdirectory.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/08\/gi-jane-2.jpg\"><img decoding=\"async\" loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Gi Jane Bootcamp\" src=\"http:\/\/5starweddingdirectory.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/08\/gi-jane-2.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"690\" height=\"462\" \/><noscript><img decoding=\"async\" title=\"Gi Jane Bootcamp\" src=\"http:\/\/5starweddingdirectory.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2011\/08\/gi-jane-2.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"690\" height=\"462\" \/><\/noscript><\/a><\/p>\n<h3 style=\"text-align: justify;\">The Exercise<\/h3>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Another hurdle I was dreading. Headed up by still-serving army trainers, the website gives pre-boot campers an idea of a typical day.\u00a0 Up at 5.30 to do an hour of exercise before breakfast (I kid you not).\u00a0\u00a0 The day follows with a variety of activities from circuit training to timed runs, boxing and assault courses.\u00a0 Bearing in mind I had never done any of these activities, bar the running, in my life, I had no idea what to expect or how I was going to do.\u00a0 The good thing about this was that neither did anyone else.\u00a0 GI Jane is not only about getting fit and losing weight but also ensures that team support and camaraderie are there to keep you going regardless of your ability or how embarrassed you might feel.\u00a0 Whether you\u2019re the first or the last, at least you gave it a go and personally challenged yourself.\u00a0 Our army trainers were exceptional and mindful of the different levels of fitness in the group.\u00a0 At times we would split in order to ensure everyone was catered for.\u00a0 Furthermore, they kept our 8-hour workouts interesting with seaside locations, country lane runs and an optional visit to Go Ape (a tree-top adventure park) for those who were game.\u00a0 Did I feel tired at the end of each day?
