Oscar De la Renta was born in the<strong> Dominican Republic<\/strong> and went to Spain to study art, but was drawn to fashion and started working alongside Spanish designer Cristobal Balenciaga.<\/p>\n<div style=\"text-align: justify;\">\n<div id=\"stcpDiv\">\n<p>He made his name in the 1960s dressing one of the major fashion icons of the day, first lady <b>Jacqueline Kennedy<\/b> and established his company in New York in 1965. Other first ladies includes <strong> Nancy Reagan, Laura Bush, Hillary Clinton and Michelle Obama.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Oscar De la Renta was known as one of the industry&#8217;s classic creators, famous for elegantly feminine designs marked by flattering silhouettes with full skirts and cinched waists, often rendered in soft hues and floral patterns. Who most recently designed <strong>Amal Clooney&#8217;s wedding dress.<\/strong><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<figure id=\"attachment_66477\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-66477\"
