Alexander McQueen – Asymmetric color-block leather dress

Sarah Burton took her design team on a trip to Wales in search of inspiration this season, and they found it in the “artistic and poetic heritage” that lies at the heart of its communities. Worn on the Fall ’20 runway, this bustier dress is cut from panels of supple red, black and purple leather, which are carefully pieced together to resemble patchwork – a direct reference to the Wrexham Tailor’s Quilt, designed by a Welsh craftsman in 1842.
