Castello di Tagliolo
The Castle of Tagliolo is a perfect combination of tradition and modernity. Its origin goes back to 976 when the tower has been built as a watchtower against the Sarrasins.
Through the centuries and the owners, there have been lots of additions and renovations, and since 1498 the feud belongs to the aristocratic Genoese family Pinelli Gentile, as a result of a wedding between Battistina Doria and Giuseppe Gentile.
Besides the wine production, which started around 1850 and includes different varieties such as Dolcetto, Barbera and Chardonnay, the Castle has become a magnificent venue for exclusive events, such as weddings, gala dinners and corporate unique parties.
Since 2006, some guest houses around the Castle have been refurbished in a genuine countryside style to accommodate our guests, in an authentic medieval atmosphere.
Our partners include some of the best Piedmontese and Ligurian caterings which can supply a local and genuine food combined with a personal touch.
Different areas of the estate can be used, such as the “private” castle garden for civil weddings or the old cellars for the aperitivo. A must is definitely the cutting of the cake in the upper yard, beneath the tower.
Personalized wine labels have become very popular as a special gift.
