Cortes House

About

“The elegance of a bygone era, blended with the best of today's living"

This may be a grandiose claim, but getting married in Cortes is the ultimate in elegance. The Regency mansion has original fireplaces, stunning cornicing, and a sweeping staircase with an atrium topped by a glass.

This is a fabulous as it sounds and means that light floods in at all times of the year.  To make a real entrance, the bride often sweeps down the Regal staircase with friends on all the balconies around. What a picture opportunity!

There are  four grand reception room, each of which has 14 foot high ceilings. There are two particularly large rooms, – generally one is taken for the meal whilst the other is perfect for dancing into the early hours of the morning!

In terms of bedrooms, there are 10 gorgeous, interior designed bedrooms, all of which give on to the atrium. Each one has been designed with the theme and is highly individual. The bridal suite has a four poster bed and enormous whirlpool bath taking two people. And that's not all – there are stunning hand painted frescoes on the wall. Other bedrooms are equally lovely. The Moray Firth bedroom is purple and green with a double aspect view over the gorgeous grounds and a bathroom tiled in mosaics to depict frolicking dolphins! On the top floor there are two family bedrooms, one of which includes a tiny house called Hideaway, which the children love!

If you get married at Cortes house, you have two options. Either you can take up to 65 people in the mansion itself for dinner and dancing (this is using two interconnecting rooms), or a marquee can be erected in the grounds for up to 120 people.

The mansion is licensed to hold weddings and you can get married wherever you choose – in the reception rooms or the lovely grounds.

In addition there are two more bedrooms in the lower ground floor. These are sometimes available on demand. Each of these sleeps three people.

The house is 40 minutes from Aberdeen and stands in 5 acres of its own grounds, giving you total privacy.
