Cave houses at the edge of Oia
IKIES Santorini is a hotel of fourteen traditional caved-in houses at the edge of Oia, each with a terrace facing the caldera, used for honeymoons and for weddings arranged with the hotel.
The residences were carved out of original cliff-cave captain's houses in the island's caved-in style, so the rooms sit inside the rock and the terraces open onto the caldera. The first six houses opened in 1999, and more were added in 2004 and by 2020.
A honeymoon in a private house
The Winemaker's Suite is a honeymoon hideaway with an entirely secluded terrace, and the Boatman's House is a love nest. Eleven of the fourteen residences have a private hot tub, and the Diamond Honeymoon Package adds flowers, champagne and massages.

Caldera and sunset views
The hotel sits on the rim of the caldera, away from the crowds that gather in Oia at sunset, so guests watch the evening sky from their own terrace.
Private hot tubs
Eleven of the fourteen residences have a hot tub on the terrace, and the Collector's Villa has a private spa area with a hot tub that flows from inside to out.
Diamond Honeymoon Package
Flowers on arrival, rose petals on the bed, champagne at breakfast, two massage treatments and hammam towels to keep, with wine and cheese in the evening.

The Gardener's Petit House
20 square metres for two adults at pool level, with a queen-size bed, a small dining table and a caldera view.
The Boatman's House
31 square metres for two adults with a hot tub, a queen-size bed and a walk-in shower, high up and out of sight of passers-by.
The Captain's Suite
50 square metres for up to four adults, with a hot tub in the corner of a curved terrace facing the caldera and Thirasia.
Getting there
The hotel stands at the start of Oia village, a ten-minute walk from the centre of the settlement. Private transfers can be called at any hour, and the reception desk is open 24 hours.

Dining on the terrace
Breakfast is served on the private terrace each morning, and a private dining menu of Greek and international dishes is served on the veranda from midday to 22:00.
