Cookie Policy
Last updated 20 October 2026.
This policy explains the cookies and similar storage used on 5starweddingdirectory.com, published by 5 Star Weddings Ltd (company number 11600740, Dragon House, Princes Way, Bridgend CF31 3AQ). It should be read with our Privacy notice.
What they are
A cookie is a small file a website places on your device. Similar technologies, such as the browser’s local and session storage, do the same job. We use the word cookies for all of them.
Cookies and storage we use
| Name or purpose | What it does | Type | Lasts |
|---|---|---|---|
| Shortlist | Remembers venues and creatives you save, in your own browser only. Not sent to us. | Strictly necessary for a feature you asked for | Until you clear it |
| Aura chat token | Keeps one Aura conversation going. Created only after you send your first Aura message, in session storage, not a cookie. | Strictly necessary for a feature you asked for | Until you close the tab |
| Sign-in cookies | Keep you signed in if you create or use a profile. Set only when you sign in. | Strictly necessary for a feature you asked for | The session, or up to two weeks if you ask to be remembered |
| fsd_sid | An anonymous random visit identifier, containing no name, email or address. We use it for our own statistics on how the site is used, such as which pages and buttons lead to enquiries, and to link a visit with an enquiry form. | Statistics (first party) | 180 days |
| Live chat | Our “Chat with our team” button is provided by ProvideSupport. It sets cookies so that a chat can continue from page to page and be recognised on a return visit. | Functional (third party) | Set by ProvideSupport; see its notice |
| Google Analytics (_ga, _ga_ and similar) | Counts visits and shows how pages are used, with IP addresses shortened. Loaded only if you accept analytics in the cookie banner. | Analytics (third party), optional | Up to two years |
| Cookie choice | Remembers what you chose in the cookie banner. | Strictly necessary | Up to one year |
We do not set advertising cookies. Our security and delivery provider, Cloudflare, may set a short-lived technical cookie to protect the site from automated abuse.
Analytics and your choice
We use Google Analytics and Google Search Console to understand how the site is found and used. Analytics is optional: it is switched on only when our cookie banner is live and you have agreed to it. You can change your choice at any time using the cookie settings link on the site. If we add any other cookie that is not strictly necessary, this page will be updated first and we will ask for your consent before it is set.
Managing cookies
You can delete or block cookies in your browser settings; the site works without the optional ones, though your shortlist will not be remembered. You can also opt out of Google Analytics with Google’s browser add-on at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout. Guidance on cookies in general: allaboutcookies.org. We do not change how the site works in response to a “Do Not Track” signal from your browser.
Changes and contact
If we change the cookies we use, this page changes first. Questions: email [email protected], write to 5 Star Weddings Ltd at the address above or use the contact page.
