The building is a private country mansion from the seventeenth century, renovated in keeping with Tuscan tradition. It stands in the Val d'Orcia, close to the medieval village of Castiglione d'Orcia, and its courtyard is reached by a dirt road. The valley is a UNESCO World Heritage site of vineyards, wheat fields and hilltop villages.
Ceremonies and receptions
Symbolic and civil ceremonies can be held in the garden, at the pergola by the pool, in the wheat field with open views of the valley, or in the lavender field. Receptions take place in the courtyard, the gardens and the wheat field, for up to 200 seated guests, and the Taverna di Mozart takes up to 60 indoors.
