Vows in the hall or at the Solstice Tower
A castle-style private estate at the edge of Kinder Scout, with a medieval hall, a tipi and a courtyard above Kinder Reservoir.
Upper House is licensed to hold marriages and same sex marriages, and Local Government Registrars perform the ceremony at the estate. Upper House has to be booked before the couple apply to the registrars, who will also ask for any documents and visas to be in place, and the UK government website on marriages and partnerships sets out the requirements. There is a choice of an indoor ceremony in the Medieval Great Hall or an outdoor ceremony at the Solstice Tower. For a personal ceremony the estate can source a celebrant, and translators and translation services can be arranged. Ceremony Only weddings are offered midweek, from Monday to Thursday.
Feasts and parties across the estate
The Medieval Great Hall has fireplaces at either end, candelabra flower hoops and stained glass windows, with a Minstrels Gallery whose lighting runs on into the courtyard. It is used for dining and dancing, and standing receptions take up to 130 guests. The adjoining Garret Room is a chill-out room with sofas and a wood burning stove. The Central Castle Courtyard has a covered reception space, with patio heaters, festoon lighting and lounge and bistro furniture.

Getting there
The estate is in Kinder, in Derbyshire, and is close to all major UK transport links. Minibus journeys between Hayfield village and the estate are part of the wedding day for guests who are not staying at the estate.

Catering with Vanilla in AllSeasons
Estate for the Weekend is a self-catered dry-hire package, with house-catering solutions available for any part of the weekend, and the wedding feast is an additional cost. Signature Lodge is fully catered by the partnered caterers Vanilla in AllSeasons, with four canapes per guest, a three-course wedding breakfast and evening food, then breakfast in the Medieval Great Hall the next morning for resident guests. The catering partners can also provide brunch, afternoon tea, a barbecue or a group wine tasting the night before the wedding.
