This is as fabulous as it sounds and means that light floods in at all times of the year. To make a natural entrance, the bride often sweeps down the Regal staircase with friends on all the balconies. What a picture opportunity!
There are four grand reception rooms, each of which has 14-foot high ceilings. There are two huge rooms – generally, one is taken for the meal whilst the other is perfect for dancing in the early morning!
In terms of bedrooms, there are ten gorgeous, interior-designed bedrooms, all of which give on to the atrium. Each one has been designed with a theme and is highly individual. The bridal suite has a four-poster bed and an enormous whirlpool bath, taking two people. And that's not all – stunning hand-painted frescoes on the wall. Other bedrooms are equally lovely. The Moray Firth bedroom is purple and green with a double aspect view over the gorgeous grounds and a bathroom tiled in mosaics to depict frolicking dolphins! On the top floor are two family bedrooms, one of which includes a tiny house called Hideaway, which the children love!
If you get married at Cortes house, you have two options. You can take up to 65 people in the mansion for dinner and dancing (this is using two interconnecting rooms), or a marquee can be erected on the grounds for up to 120 people.
The mansion is licensed to hold weddings, and you can get married wherever you choose – in the reception rooms or on the lovely grounds.
In addition, there are two more bedrooms on the lower ground floor. These are sometimes available on demand. Each of these sleeps three people.
The house is 40 minutes from Aberdeen and stands on 5 acres of grounds, giving you total privacy.
