The Honourable Society of Gray's Inn offers four distinct event spaces, each ideal for a memorable celebration:

  • The Hall – An elegant, oak-panelled space for your seated wedding breakfast, accommodating up to 176 guests.
  • The Walks – The Walks is a five-acre private garden, one of London’s largest and most beautiful green spaces, licensed for civil ceremonies for up to 250 guests. It offers a stunning setting for outdoor wedding ceremonies and drinks receptions throughout the year. During June and July, a marquee can accommodate up to 250 seated guests, providing a flexible space that serves as a blank canvas for your celebration, with the option to book as dry hire and personalise every detail to suit your vision.
  • Wedding Ceremonies – Gray’s Inn is fully licensed for civil ceremonies and partnerships, with seating for up to 176 guests indoor and 250 guests outdoor. Ceremony and reception bookings are exclusively available on weekends.

  • The Hall – A breathtaking oak-panelled room ideal for both ceremonies and receptions, seating up to 176 guests for dining and 180 guests for a ceremony.
  • The Large Pension Room – A refined setting for private dinners or intimate ceremonies, accommodating 60 seated guests or 110 standing.
  • The Walks & Summer Marquee – Available during June and July, this stunning five-acre garden features a luxury marquee, hosting 250 seated or 600 standing guests – perfect for an alfresco celebration.

During June and July, The Walks transforms into an idyllic outdoor wedding venue with a luxury marquee, perfect for elegant summer receptions. Whether you envision a romantic al fresco ceremony or a grand outdoor celebration, this space provides a breathtaking backdrop.

Frequently Asked Questions

When is the best day for my wedding to be at the venue? 

We offer an exclusive hire of our Domus Building on the Weekend, from 12:00 - 00:00 (on Saturdays) and from 12:00 - 22:30 (on Sundays). 

Do you offer on-site catering? 

Yes, we do offer on-site, in-house catering. Our menus are seasonal, sustainably sourced, vegetarian, vegan, gluten-free, and halal meat-friendly. We are a nut-free venue, so we cannot allow any items containing nuts on site. We appreciate that traces of nuts can not always be avoided. We can discuss this in more depth when you enquiry through us for more information. 

Do you have licenced rooms for a ceremony? 

Yes! Our licenced rooms are the Hall, accommodating a maximum of 180 guests, the Large Pension Room for 100 guests and the Walks for up to 250 guests.

Is a Dry Hire booking possible for my Wedding? 

Of course! Gray's Inn is able to provide the Domus building as a dry-hire space for your event. The building includes four spaces that will be part of the dry hire exclusive access: The Hall, Large Pension Room, Small Pension Room and Bencher's Library. 

What are your rules on suppliers? 

We do have our own list of suppliers with whom we work closely. External suppliers must be approved by the venue to ensure they agree to our terms and conditions. 

Do you have any outdoor space? 

The Walks is a private five-acre garden where you are able to host a reception (weather permitting). Our custom-built, state-of-the-art Marquee during June and July offers a beautiful setting for a wedding breakfast in the gardens for 200 - 250 guests. 

Do you offer a Wedding Package? 

Yes! Our Standard Wedding Package includes the following: 

  • Exclusive venue hire of the Gray’s Inn Domus from 12 pm to 12 pm   
  • Two glasses of arrival sparkling wine before or after the ceremony  
  • A choice of three pre-dinner canapes  
  • Three-course meal followed by tea, coffee and petit fours  
  • Half a bottle of house wine with the meal  
  • One glass of sparkling wine for the toasts  
  • Your choice of either a cash bar or account bar after dinner  
  • Still and sparkling water with dinner  
  • Gray’s Inn silver cutlery, crockery and glassware  
  • Silver cake stand and knife. We also offer bespoke packages, which we can happily personalise and tailor to your preference! 

What is the venue's accessibility? 

As we are a historic venue of over 600 years, we try our very best to make our venue as accessible as possible! We have integrated elevators and ramps to access all spaces in the buildings. Please enquiry for more information.
