In an area known for its spectacular and beautiful landscape, Storrs enjoys exceptional lakeside views from its private and peaceful 17 acres of grounds. It is an unsurpassable year-round wedding venue, with the versatility to host your complete day of celebrations in one place.
The main house is an elegant Georgian and Victorian mansion, its large gracefully proportioned public rooms lend themselves effortlessly to wedding ceremonies; with a choice of spaces licenced for civil ceremonies, indoors and out; plus 3 dining spaces for wedding receptions.
Storrs provides the versatility to cater for Exclusive Use weddings; and small intimate groups; as well as elopements – just the bride and groom, Just for Two. Outdoor wedding ceremonies are performed in the Gazebo, set on the lawns looking out over the lake. Wedding packages are tailored to suit you, (subject to current COVID 19 restrictions). The hotel jetty can take small boats, in conjunction with Windermere Lake Cruises who can provide a wedding cruise for your party.
Storrs also provides one of the most exceptional locations for your wedding photography, from the striking coloured glass rotunda and sweeping staircase in the main hallway, the garden and lake views, and the National Trust owned Temple of Heroes, a Georgian stone-built folly projecting out into the waters of the lake.

The 30 individual bedrooms in the main house are matched by a further choice of accommodation; the very private Boat House with its terrace, firepit and hot tub; and the contemporary Lakeside Suites - 6 open plan rooms around a courtyard sat in a wooded grove, looking out over the lake, each with a terrace and its own hot tub.
Although only a few minutes outside the popular visitor destination of Bowness on Windermere, Storrs sits in a peaceful and secluded countryside location. It has easy road access 30 minutes from jct36 of the M6, with the advantage of being off the busier main roads that can get congested in peak season. We also have the space for helicopter landing.
