Zita is the epitome of creativity: she is strong on concept and intuition, flourishing on the challenges her customers provide her with, rarely repeating a design. She has developed a highly distinctive style that is naturalistic yet elegant, full of feeling and simple beauty, offering a somewhat ethereal quality that appeals to a wide and varied customer base.
Being first and foremost a designer, Zita’s inspiration is often drawn from her relationship with her clients. When approached by a customer requesting ‘something special’, she will suggest a variety of flowers and foliage and ways to combine them, observing the client’s response and determining how an individual concept will resonate with their needs. Zita likes to allow the flowers to speak for themselves. Her bouquets are therefore not created on the basis of colour and texture alone but rather communicate a theme or emotion suggested by the customer.

These themes may be positive such as ‘elation’, ‘fireworks’ or ‘summer picnic’ but Zita also works sensitively with her clients to articulate more difficult feelings such as ‘loss’ or ‘silence’, creating combinations which are always beautiful and often powerfully emotive.
The symbolic language of flowers is most captivating when used for Wedding services and receptions. Zita spends as much time as is needed with the Bride to truly understand her dreams, leading her through the design process until she ascertains exactly what she wants.
The floral designs reflects the Bride’s personality, complementing her choice of dress, venue and theme. What eventually emerges is a unique, coherent and emotionally charged design that will stay in the memory of both the Bride and her guests. Zita’s style is informed by childhood days spent on her grandfather’s fazenda in Brazil, where she developed her lifelong habit of looking at the world with a designer’s eyes.
She studied artistic bookbinding in Paris, followed by Interior Design at the KLC School of Design and Garden Design at the Inchbald School of Design where she graduated with a distinction. For her final project at the latter, she designed a centre for traumatised children on a 20-acre mountainside site in Northern Italy, winning her the prestigious Design & Decoration Award in the category of Graduate Garden Designer of the Year 2003.
