A wine estate in Vista Flores, in the Uco Valley of Mendoza, with eight rooms and suites, a library of more than 8,500 books and a 25-metre pool among the vines.

Antucura stands in Vista Flores, in the Uco Valley of Mendoza, at the foot of the Andes. The winery began in 2003 and the wine hotel followed in 2006. The estate's 100-hectare vineyard lies at 1,050 metres above sea level, with Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot vines brought from Pomerol. The name means stone of the sun in the Mapudungun language.

The setting

A house built around a library

Eight rooms and suites are connected by the library, which holds more than 8,500 volumes in several languages. A fresco decorates the ceiling of the main hall, and sculptures and paintings are placed through the house. Each room is named in an indigenous language, a nod to the native cultures of the region.

The kitchen cooks regional dishes from seasonal local ingredients, each paired with wines from the estate's private cellar. Tastings in the cellar are led by the winemaker, and long afternoons on the verandas are given to asados. Exclusive dinners can be held under the Andean sky.
