Ca' Sagredo is a 15th-century Venetian Gothic palazzo on the Grand Canal at Campo Santa Sofia in Cannaregio, now a hotel and museum with a frescoed ballroom, a rooftop terrace and about 42 rooms and suites.

Ca' Sagredo rises straight from the Grand Canal at Campo Santa Sofia, beside the Ca' d'Oro. Once the home of the Morosini and then the Sagredo family, it is now a National Monument, part hotel and part museum, with walls and ceilings painted by Sebastiano Ricci, Giambattista Tiepolo, Pietro Longhi and Nicolo Bambini.

The setting

Staircase, Portego and ballroom

A monumental staircase by Andrea Tirali climbs from the water entrance to the piano nobile. There the long Portego runs the depth of the palazzo, with Gothic windows over the canal, and off it lie the Sala della Musica, the Doge Hall and the Amigoni and Tiepolo halls.
