With Christmas fast approaching, the tipple that I will be enjoying..(if I am lucky enough is ) Dom Perignon which has a price tag from £87.00 upwards, this is my favorite bubbly because it is so smooth and velvety, hmm.

Moet & Chandone Brut has a more reasonable price tag of about £24.95 per bottle, and is the world`s favorite best selling non vintage champagne, it has a full bodied taste and a good idea would be to drink with fresh apples or any summer fruit for a summer wedding. But as it is winter and cold, just drink it naturally or with some lightly salted olives.

Bollinger Special Cuvee, from £35 per bottle this is also rich and again full bodied, I think this champagne is a great one for a toast and evening receptions, and the stylish bottle just adds to the allure. But do remember…no drinking and driving. Bye for now

We all want a wedding of our dreams, so I thought I would let you have a few words of advise on the simple things to make sure that you can cross them off your “to do list”.

Do have a wet weather plan for the day. Keep a supply of umbrellas handy and ask the hotel what happens if you can`t have your summer reception on the lawn.

If you are having a marquee, do consider the average temperature of the time of year. No one will appreciate any of your unique , lovingly planned details if they are freezing cold, and heaters may be your best investment yet.

Ask everyone who will need electricity on the day for their requirements. They should give them to you either watts or amps. If you are holding your reception in a marquee, a generator either as your main supply or as an emergency would be a good idea.

Don`t run out of drinks ! Here is a quick guide to help you. there are six flutes to one 750ml bottles of champagne; five medium glasses to one 750ml bottle of wine. Allow two glasses per person before the meal and three during the meal. Don’t forget the champagne for the toast !

Ask the best man and the groom to carry their mobile phones, before the wedding so you can get hold of them with any last minute questions or changes of plan.

Make sure your caterers, florist, cake designer knows the exact location of the venue and are aware of the date and time to arrive.

One last word of advise, you should both walk through the day as you see it unfold and in the eyes of your guests and see if anything you need to add to your special day, KISS.

Luxury footwear brand launch custom made shoe service: AW 2007 will see Oliver Sweeney, British luxury footwear and accessory specialist launch an exclusive custom made shoe service. The service will offer the style savvy consumer the opportunity to create a truly unique shoe made on the patented Oliver Sweeney Anatomical Last*. With a choice of exotic materials such as crocodile, ostrich and iguana skin in a variety of colours, there will be over 100 design possibilities.

As well as choosing from the range of colours and skins, customers will be able to select details such as piping, lining and lace options. Built around the two popular toe shapes, “Twister” and “Venice”, customers can choose from a selection of 24 exotic skins in colours ranging from baby blue, cream, and grey to brilliant green and gold. The chosen crocodile, ostrich or iguana skin can then be teamed with the large colour palette of plain leathers including seasonal shades of khaki, tan and nero as well as more off the wall hues of lilac, lime, bright orange and striking yellows.

Along with selecting the main design features, the customer can also take the customisation one step further by personalising the sole of the shoe with an embossed stamp. This can range from the wearer’s name, initials, a pertinent date or message, allowing the customer to have their design credentials permanently embedded in the shoe.

The custom made shoe service involves the customer in the design process from beginning to end, from the initial design consultation where

the customer will be fitted for the right size to selecting toe shape, colours, skins, lacing and detailing. After the design is signed off by the customer, it is then sent to Oliver Sweeney’s factory in Ancona, Italy, where it will be created uniquely to the customer’s specifications and hand finished. The service will be available in the brand’s three standalone stores - New Bond St, Kings Road and Leeds as well as the brand’s concession in Harvey Nichols, Knightsbridge.

The final shoe will be delivered to the customer packaged in a wooden box with an embossed Oliver Sweeney custom made shoe logo. The entire custom made process takes up to 12 weeks and prices range from £495 up to £990

Here is a quick blog on creative cup cakes: You have to be really careful when giving cupcakes as favors, but it can definitely be done. The cakes need to be glued to the bottom of the small box with white chocolate to keep it in place. I think that a great idea would be to surprise your guests with exotic flavors like coconut lime, pumpkin and dulce de leche.
