Tissington Hall is a Jacobean house built in 1609 in the Peak District village of Tissington, hired for exclusive-use weddings of up to 150 seated guests and 200 in the evening.
The FitzHerbert family has lived at Tissington Hall for more than 400 years, since the house was built in 1609. A wedding here therefore takes place in a working family home rather than a hired hall, set in a honey-coloured village in the Peak District.
Vows in a Jacobean hall
The stone-flagged Great Hall has a carved Jacobean fireplace and tall mullioned windows, and holds up to 80 for a ceremony. Outdoors, the licensed Terrace Arcade runs along the house and takes up to 100, with the gardens beyond.
