Stepping into the Kimpton BEM Budapest feels like entering a design-lover’s dream — a mesmerising, myth-inspired space that’s rich in storytelling and style. Perfectly located in the heart of Hungary’s capital, this hotel is ideal for couples seeking luxury, romance, and a magical setting for a destination wedding or honeymoon.
A Legendary Arrival
We received the warmest welcome on arrival. The entrance itself was a showstopper — stained-glass doors opening into a lobby filled with statement art and layers of meaning. At the heart stood a majestic stag sculpture, surrounded by an upside-down egg-shaped mosaic installation, evoking symbols of rebirth and mythology.

The hotel’s design, by the incredible Marcel Wanders, draws on Hungarian folklore – from sea and land creatures to elemental forces – seamlessly blended with contemporary elegance. It’s one of the most visually stunning hotels I’ve ever visited.
The Suite Life
Our suite was pure indulgence. Generously sized windows showcased beautiful views of the Danube, while a freestanding bathtub at the foot of the bed created an incredibly romantic setting.

Every detail was thoughtfully curated – from the Balmain toiletries to the sliding stained-glass door separating the lounge and bedroom. We were welcomed with a chilled bottle of champagne and a plate of delicate Kimpton Budapest macarons – a lovely surprise that set the tone for a truly special stay.

The suite radiated comfort, charm, and modern elegance — an ideal sanctuary for couples.
Dining at AGOS
Dinner at AGOS was a culinary highlight. The menu celebrates bold European flavours with flair and finesse.

We started with the goat cheese panna cotta, paired with beetroot textures — delicate, creamy, and full of flavour. The Serrano ham croquettes were crisp and irresistible. For mains, we chose the halibut en papillote — perfectly steamed and aromatic — accompanied by an array of sides, including truffle fries, creamy mash, mixed salads with sheep’s cheese, and seasonal vegetables.

For dessert, we indulged in the cherry red velvet and a decadent black forest, both rich and beautifully presented. The cocktail list didn’t disappoint either — the margarita was balanced, zesty, and refreshing.
Rooftop Vibes At feNNen
The feNNen Skybar was a perfect place to soak in Budapest’s skyline. With a stylish vibe, ambient music, and sweeping views, it’s the place to sip cocktails and relax. Whether watching the sunset or enjoying an after-dinner drink, the rooftop offers a stunning city backdrop and a cool, cosmopolitan atmosphere.

A Living Philosophy
On the menu at AGOS a quote by Bill Kimpton caught my eye:
“We are in the business of living and enjoying life.”
This spirit is felt throughout the hotel. Every member of the team radiated warmth and authenticity. It’s rare to experience service that feels this natural, and it truly elevated our stay.
The Perfect Wedding Destination
Kimpton BEM is an exceptional choice for couples planning a destination wedding in Budapest. With luxurious rooms, a chic rooftop, and incredible food, it’s ideal for a wedding celebration, honeymoon, or mini-moon.

The hotel provides endless opportunities for wedding photography – from the striking lobby artwork to the rooftop views of the Danube. Stylish, welcoming, and unforgettable — it’s everything a luxury wedding venue should be.
