Our Anaheim adventure at the Marriott
During our LA trip, we were lucky enough to be invited to stay at the Anaheim Marriott, close to Disneyland and with easy access to many theatres, shopping and dining.
Situated in the heart of Orange County, the Anaheim Marriott offers an inviting façade and a plush, cool, contemporary interior. Rooms have panoramic views of the Orange County skyline and are really comfortable, with luxurious bedding and simple, clean décor.
We visited the hotel specially to see what it can offer a couple wanting a Californian wedding venue, and it definitely did not disappoint! The entrance is very grand, with huge waterfalls cascading down and leading you on to the spacious, modern reception.
Our check in was very easy, the staff are lovely, and we went to find our room on the 15th floor. Our room, was huge, with two double beds and a balcony with panoramic views of Anaheim and overlooking the incredibly tempting swimming pool! There’s so much to do in Anaheim, however, and we wanted to get out and explore.
You can purchase your tickets for the shuttle bus to Disneyland in the hotel which is so convenient, so we hopped on a bus and had a wonderful day out. Returning to the hotel was a welcome relief after a day of fun and we dined outside next to the pool.
The food is delicious – expertly prepared and served. I had an amazing salad and a delicious crème brulee cheesecake. With a great bar and outdoor heaters, the space is really relaxed and comfortable and we chilled out there for a while.
After a busy day at Disney, we definitely needed a good night’s sleep, and we certainly got it! The beds were really comfortable and the room was clean, light and airy, making our stay incredibly relaxing.
After an early breakfast (there’s a huge selection!), we set off back on the shuttle to the Disney California Adventure Park for another fun filled day.
Back at the hotel, there’s more to explore, with a Starbucks, plenty of dining options, gym, swimming pool and of course, the ballrooms, perfect for a beautiful wedding.
The Anaheim Marriott can host large and small weddings, but is definitely geared more towards larger events, with a range of function rooms to accommodate different celebrations. Their rooms are also ideal for South Asian and Indian weddings – they are well used to catering for these weddings and the rooms really lend themselves to these styles.
There are four ballrooms, each as grand as the next, with the ability to accommodate from around 50 to over 2000 guests! If however, like me, you’d struggle to invite that many people, they can alter the rooms to suit your guest numbers.
These spaces are really versatile; they can be adjusted however you’d wish. You have the choice of the Marquis Ballroom, the largest space; the Platinum Ballroom, Grand Ballroom and Orange County Ballroom, and each is bedecked with beautiful chandeliers, atmospheric lighting and can be tailored to your needs with a dancefloor, drapes, more lighting and of course, flowers, fabric and other items to suit your chosen colour palette.
The beauty of this place is that once you’ve chosen your space, their staff will work with you to make sure every detail is perfect. They offer three comprehensive wedding packages, including your wedding cake, a three course dinner and champagne for the toast and can accommodate every wish and family tradition to ensure your day is simply perfect. And at the end of the day, there’s plenty of room for your guests to stay the night – they even offer a brunch the next day, so you can catch up with friends and family to relive the events of the previous day.
The hotel is also ideally situated for beach trips, shopping and, of course, no trip would be complete without a visit to Disneyland, just two blocks from the hotel. If you chose this as your wedding venue, you could extend your stay and enjoy more of what Anaheim has to offer with a glorious Orange County honeymoon. Or if you’ve already planned your wedding day, a honeymoon here would be a superb choice.
The Anaheim Marriott staff are lovely, the service is excellent and we enjoyed our stay very much. I would highly recommend it for a destination wedding – with the generous wedding packages and helpful team it would really take the stress out of planning a wedding abroad!
