The Couture Process
Working closely alongside a top international fashion designer to create a custom wedding dress is the ultimate luxury for most brides-to-be and Britta welcomes her clients to The Couture Gallery Atelier to join her in the couture process, from start to finish.
Before getting started, Britta meets with her clients one-on-one to discuss initial thoughts about the design and style of the dress, as well as the type of décor and ambience they are planning for their wedding.
This consultation is a collaborative experience during which Britta combines her expert advice about the details – from shapes and colour to fabric choices – with a bride’s personal tastes to conceptualise a dress design that is both aesthetically stunning and authentic. A further in-depth consultation follows, finalising the design and materials before the measurement is taken and the Couture Process can begin.
Every gown is created at the in-house Atelier by Britta and her trusted team using only the finest materials, with laces being sourced from France and Italy, and silks coming from Europe and the UK. Brides can expect the entire couture process to take anywhere from 6-12 months, depending on the design.
Several silk fittings ensure the perfect fit and allow for tweaks and changes a bride may want to make along the way, as well as the placement of any trimmings or embellishments. Bespoke bridal accessories, such as veils or toppers may also be chosen in the process, completing the final wedding day look.
By offering a personal service from the first sketch to the finished dress, Britta ensures the couture process is an exciting and inspiring journey.
A unique experience that the designer remains extremely passionate about: “Working together with a bride to create the perfect dress is by far my favourite part of the job. It's wonderfully exciting and creative. Nothing is more satisfying or fulfilling than having played a small part in making someone’s dream come true, creating not just a dress, but the memory of a lifetime..."
