Trinity House – a Georgian gem on Tower Hill

DIARY ALERT!    TRINITY HOUSE WEDDING SHOWCASE OPEN DAY FROM 10AM – 4PM ON SATURDAY, 19TH SEPTEMBER.

The professional events team at Trinity House on Tower Hill have been orchestrating memorable civil ceremonies at this Georgian gem for over 30 years. Offering glorious views of the legendary Tower of London, the venue is the home of the General Lighthouse Authority and is a showcase of fascinating maritime treasures and artefacts, including the brass bell from the Royal Yacht Britannia.

Five elegant rooms of varying sizes and décor provide height, natural light and flexible seated formats for a total capacity of 130 (200 standing). High ceilings with an arresting trompe l’oeil painting distinguish the Court Room, an ideal option for a post-ceremony reception for up to 130 or a seated ceremony for up to 80.  The Library is the main room comprising opulent crystal chandeliers, heritage stained-glass panels, a display cabinet of important silver and a minstrels’ gallery. This room allows for civil ceremonies of up to 130 seated (200 standing), and two smaller connecting rooms allow added flexibility, i.e. a separate space for a dance floor if desired.

The venue has evidently got an impressive track record, and there are numerous testimonials like this on their website:

"We’re so pleased that we picked Trinity House for our wedding reception. It’s a beautiful, centrally located venue with unique historical features. We all had a wonderful time; our guests were delighted, and many commented on the friendliness and attentiveness of the staff.”   Alex and Tyler - 2025

“Our wedding ceremony at Trinity House in December was nothing short of magic. The iconic setting, flawless planning, and incredible staff made the day feel effortless from start to finish. Every detail was handled with care, letting us be fully in the moment. The setting was both grand and deeply personal, striking the ideal balance between tradition and modernity. The staff’s attentiveness and professionalism elevated the experience, making the day feel effortless and truly special. It was everything we had envisioned—and so much more”…    Lemon and Tom - 2024

Not only are the gold-crested red leather chairs and polished mahogany tables included in the venue hire, but also included on request is (careful!) use of a grand ceremonial sword to cut the wedding cake.  A particularly appealing offer is their three-hour dry-hire wedding ceremony special in The Library and/or Court Rooms for £2,500 on weekdays (£3,000 weekends) between 9 am – 5 pm, not including VAT.   Most unusually, corkage will not be charged if bridal parties bring their own beverages, and it includes two waiters plus glassware for no extra charge.  Located on the doorstep of the Tower Hill underground and in proximity to several other local, national and international transport hubs,  this is an irresistible offering for a quintessentially English wedding!

Trinity House is always available on an exclusive-use basis to ensure total privacy.
