A family house since 1262

Elmore Court is a historic country house near Gloucester, held by the Guise family since 1262, with an eco-built events hall, sixteen bedrooms and exclusive use of the estate.

Elmore Court has belonged to the Guise family since 1262, when the land was granted for a yearly rent of one gillyflower. The present owner, Anselm Guise, now opens the house for weddings. Painted rooms hung with portraits and tapestries, a great Hall and gardens running out into parkland make up the setting.

The Gillyflower

Beside the house stands the Gillyflower, an events hall built for the purpose with a living roof and a warm timber lining. It was designed so that a lively party can carry on late without disturbing neighbours, with a serious sound system and room to dance. It takes gatherings from around 60 guests up to 200 or more.
