Grade II listed Wyatville country house with a glass Orangery, parkland and lake near Newark, Lincolnshire
No. 335 · Autumn 2026

A house by the architect of Windsor Castle
Stubton Hall is a Regency country house of 1813-14 near Newark, taken by one wedding a day, with a glass Orangery, 23 acres of grounds and 25 en-suite bedrooms.
Stubton Hall was raised in gault brick with stone dressings between 1813 and 1814 by Sir Jeffry Wyatville, who also remodelled Windsor Castle and worked at Chatsworth. It passed through the Royds family, then spent fifty years as a boarding school before being restored to private life as a wedding house.

Beneath the glass of the Orangery
The Orangery is a light-filled glass room opening onto the gardens, where couples marry and sit down to dinner for up to 200. Smaller ceremonies suit the panelled Music Room, the Conservatory or the Bow Room, and a licensed terrace looks over the grounds.
