Welcome to The Function Band

The Function Band is a live wedding band based in Borehamwood, Hertfordshire, on the edge of London. It performs as a DJ Live act from six musicians or as a ShowBand from nine, growing to twenty, at weddings across London and the UK, in Ireland and at destination weddings in Europe and beyond.

The Function Band is a live act for weddings, private parties and corporate events, performing since 2008 from a base in Borehamwood, Hertfordshire. It has built a large following online, with more than 400,000 social media followers and over 250 million views on TikTok and Instagram.

About

The Function Band

Couples choose between two formats. DJ Live combines a DJ with singers and live instruments, starting at six or eight musicians: a typical six-piece has a DJ, guitarist, saxophonist and three vocalists. The ShowBand is a produced live show that starts as a nine-piece with drums, bass, guitar, keyboard, trumpet, saxophone and three vocalists. Either line-up can grow to twenty with extra vocalists, percussion, brass or strings.

The repertoire runs from soul and Motown to modern pop, R&B, dance and disco, and each set list is tailored to the crowd. A typical wedding has a short entrance set, a live dinner set and an evening of party music.

    Couples send their date, venue and the kind of evening they want through the enquiry form, by email or by phone.

    Choose a line-up

    The team recommends a format, from a six-piece DJ Live act to a full ShowBand with lighting and production, to suit the venue, the...

  3. 3

    Planning call and meeting

    Couples go through the day with the events team before the wedding, so the set list and the key moments are personal to them.

  4. 4

    Book early

    For May to September and for popular destinations abroad the band advises booking 12 to 18 months ahead.
