Heritage Resorts, on the southwest coast of Mauritius, is set in a former sugar plantation estate known as the Domaine de Bel Ombre. An area of beguiling natural beauty, stretching from regal mountains to a turquoise lagoon, the Domaine offers a rich and colourful history, transporting guests back to an era of grace and romanticism.
Accommodation
Each hotel is completely different in style, so couples can choose between a more serene wedding at Heritage Le Telfair or a more lively affair at Heritage Awali.
Heritage Le Telfair
An elegant and refined 5* hotel, inspired by colonial architecture and infused with the charm and style of its sugar plantation past. There are 158 rooms and suites, each with either beautiful sea views or river views with floor to ceiling French windows, private balconies or verandas. The design of the guest rooms is inspired by the French colonial period with dark timber floors, period inspired furniture and a high level of attention to design detail.
Heritage Awali
Mauritius’ African heritage is reflected in the décor of this 5* hotel. The African inspiration is clear throughout Heritage Awali, through the warm tones of ochre, tan, saffron and brown and through the dark Wenge wood doors and decorative copper touches. There are 154 Deluxe rooms, 5 suites and a villa (perfect for the bridal party pre-ceremony). Each room opens onto a private terrace, not far from two infinity pools and a long white sandy beach.
Both hotels can be booked out in their entirety for a wedding celebration.
Reception
With twelve restaurants on offer, there are numerous options for wedding receptions around the resort including:
Le Chateau de Bel Ombre
A romantic 18th century mansion, offering an enchanting setting overlooking a French-style garden and surrounded by huge trees (perfect for wedding shots), with views out across verdant hills and towards the Indian Ocean.
C Beach Club
For a more modern setting, this beachside restaurant is set on white sand offering barefoot dining and looks out across the calm lagoon. Perfect for an evening under the stars or a lively beach party.
Annabella’s
Set in the centre of Heritage Le Telfair, this chic brasserie is perfect for a larger sit-down meal either inside the restaurant or in the quaint gardens just outside:
Gin’Ja
A Pan Asian restaurant, offering a more intimate setting where guests can spill onto the sands just outside.
Place du Moulin
Previously the old sugar mill, this is a huge space with a funkier industrial feel.
