Italian couture designer Luisa Beccaria has created a stunning collection of bridal gowns featuring classic silhouettes with contemporary design details.
The Luisa Beccaria Spring Summer 2014 collection is an experience of feelings and emotions for a free, independent, passionate and well minded woman, who is able to go about her daily routine with the lightness and freedom of a butterfly.
Fresh, graphic and sometimes sinuous shapes give life to a three-dimensional collection creating feminine silhouettes, which are complemented by the tailoring.
The lengths, from maxi to mini, are showcased in dresses and bell-shaped skirts, often combined with short tops that reveal a flash of skin. Dresses in chiffon and organza contrast with stronger shaped sheath dress that fall below the knee.
The third dimension of the collection is reflected in dual-coloured broderie anglaise or in the laser-cut strips of cotton, that make couture cotton tulle and lace pillow. The linen is carved to add to the two dimensions.
Micro-prints of garlands and doves are inspired by the motifs and shades of blue Wedgewood and become three-dimensional when embroidered on the tulle and organza, leaving the dove wings free and floating; or they become jacquard on the gold brocades.
The butterfly rises from the prints and comes to life in the jewel embroidery on the tulle dresses and organza is embellished with iridescent lace for the evening.
The colour palette is rich with shades of light blues and vibrant red pomegranate, which are the main colours of the collection. Complimented by delicate tones of cream, water green and lavender with a touch of navy blue and the shades of gold create a beautiful platinum effect.
