Antigua Resort Collaborates With Local Artist

A wedding in the UK does not always mean sunshine, even in summer, and no bride wants to wear wellies under her wedding dress. Fortunately the Jolly Beach Resort and Spa in Antigua has collaborated with leading local contemporary artist, Mark Brown, to design two new custom wedding packages that include sea, sand and practically guaranteed sunshine: The Tropical Package, for weddings with up to 50 guests and The Classic Package, for larger weddings.

Couples choosing a Mark Brown Wedding at Jolly Beach Resort & Spa are able to express their own personal tastes by accentuating the aisle with a choice of decorations such as lanterns, sea shells and tropical flowers. They can choose their own colour palette for the sheer fabric that will drape over the gazebo on the white-sand beach which they will be married under, and the dressing for the chairs, where up to 50 guests will watch looking out over the Caribbean sea. Afterwards, the resort’s Hammock Lounge is transformed into a reception venue with draped ceilings and huge vases of tropical flowers.

The Mark Brown Classic Package, designed for couples hosting 50 to 100 guests, includes a consultation with the artist so that the bride and grooms personal vision could be translated into the wedding decor on their special day. This package includes a thematically decorated two-tier wedding cake or cupcakes, a bridal bouquet and the grooms matching buttonhole in the palette of choice.

The package cost starts at US $3,500.

Both Mark Brown Wedding packages include the personal attention of award-winning wedding coördinator, Beverly King, and wedding staff at Jolly Beach Resort & Spa, as well as some necessities: the cost of the marriage licence, original Marriage Certificate, legal fees, the marriage officer to perform the ceremony and witnesses, should they be needed. There are also some special gifts for the bride and groom beginning with a $500 with a booking of six rooms with stays of seven nights (or a 12-night all-inclusive stay), a $100 credit for the resort’s Palms Wellness Centre, Spa, Gym and Beauty Salon and a $40 credit on an excursion.
