Review: Hilton London Syon Park

Modern elegance and natural beauty

Sitting on the edge of the 200 acres Syon House Estate, Hilton London Syon Park is a truly lovely hotel.

Tucked away just across the River Thames, with Kew Gardens gracing the opposite bank, you may never know the park existed, save for the signs directing you to the long driveway through the park that leads you past Syon House itself and on to the hotel.

First impressions

Its unique shape and striking pointed roof welcomed us and we made our way into reception and the gorgeous, elegant chandelier that hung above the parquet and polished marble floor, casting beautiful shadows around the lobby. Paintings around the space reminded us of the beauty that lay just next door in the park, and as our room wasn’t quite ready for us, we made the most of the exclusive guest key to the park itself.

Syon Park

With gorgeous river bridges, spring flowers and ancient picturesque trees, it was almost like a secluded secret garden, perfect for wedding photos. It would also make the prettiest proposal location, with cute benches and plenty of space for the most important of private moments!

After our glorious stroll through the park, we had to snap back to reality, and we made our way to our king deluxe room on the second floor.

The bedroom

The room was lovely. A plush grey velvet headboard adorned the bed, and a cute balcony gave us some lovely views over the courtyard and beyond, where relaxed, chilled out music gave it a real holiday vibe!

The bathroom

With contrasting black and white décor and sparkling chrome fixtures, the bathroom was modern and fresh, boasting ESPA products, also seen in the spa… which is where we headed next.

We love a sharp, fresh bathroom!

Kallima Spa

A haven of tranquillity, the Kallima Spa offers a tempting range of treatments as well as a pool with Jacuzzi and a lounge area. With soft lighting, natural surroundings with hints of edgy gold sparks and the most relaxing music, it was the perfect place to just sit and take a breath. Some guests were enjoying afternoon tea and it would be the perfect relaxing luxury spot for a hen weekend.

Weddings at Hilton London Syon Park

Whilst we were staying at the Hilton Syon Park, there were two weddings taking place, so we were very fortunate to see how they host events. We love the idea of taking exclusive use of the gorgeous old Syon Park Conservatory for your ceremony before heading to the park for photos and on to the hotel for the reception. With surroundings like this, you’d never dream you were still in London!

If you wanted to keep the whole occasion onsite, the elegant Grand Syon Ballroom would be the best option, able to welcome up to 500 guests for a champagne reception, or 400 for a traditional wedding breakfast.

Dinner

We enjoyed our dinner at the Marco Pierre White Steakhouse, Bar and Grill where the menu really does cater for every taste. The dining atmosphere was wonderfully relaxed, with great staff and really good food. We enjoyed smoked hickory baby back ribs, calamari, salmon and a plethora of side orders. I can also highly recommend the exquisite banana meringue mess. A twist on the classic strawberry version, this one was absolute heaven.

Breakfast and departure

After sleeping off the dreamy dessert, we enjoyed a fabulous breakfast. There was a lovely buzz in the room as the wedding party we had seen the previous day continued enjoying their time together and the gorgeous breakfast on offer.
