Wedding dress collection: Vera Wang – SS20

October 2019 saw Vera Wang celebrate her 60th bridal collection, and it’s one of the most detailed yet.

The Vera Wang Spring 2020 bridal collection is full of dresses designed to be stunning from every angle. She wanted them to look completely different all around the 360 degrees, rather than just thinking about the front and back. Purposefully asymmetrical, with bunched fabric and giant bloom embellishments, the dresses are interesting, modern and different with every turn. I’ve chosen my 5 Star favourite five, and you can see the full collection here.

Iris

With a dramatic macramé lace overlay, I love the lavender colour of this dress and the gorgeous, unexpected smoke silk organza hand cut flower at the shoulder. Elegant in its unusual appearance, it still toes the line with a traditional mermaid shape.

Larkspure

With a deep v neckline, cut in soft white, the hand draped skirt is a gorgeous contrast to the bodice. Smoke, ivory and nude tulle layer in beautiful harmony, while a silk organza rose adds detail at the waist, with another at the shoulder.

Cosmos

Brave in its daring hue, this gown is the ultimate contrast, with umber hand draped French tulle bursting open to reveal a tumbled nude skirt. A flash of bright comes by way of a sage silk organza flower at the shoulder.

Orleander

Dropped shoulders in layered macramé lace provide a perfect detail for the asymmetry that appears in the skirt, with a lace overly cropped to reveal a dramatic nude tulle skirt. More silk organza flowers add a dash of colour.

Camellia

Want a white gown? Here it is! With a stunning a symmetrical bodice, layered with French tulle around and over the shoulder, there’s so much to see on this dress. Layers of macramé lace weave in between a tulle skirt and a pewter duchesse satin flower at the shoulder is the crowning glory.
