The lotus flower has long been a symbol of love, purity, wisdom and grace, and it is this blossom that has inspired Zuhair Murad’s Fall 2019 collection. Re-interpreted with Art Deco and Art Nouveau influences, I love the way the designs unfold like petals, revealing delicate embroideries, crystals and subtle detailing. The white and ivory dresses have gorgeous matching pieces – overskirts, capes and a particularly fun feather bolero are all stunning accessories.
I’ve chosen my 5 Star favourite five – you can find the full collection here.
I love the raw edge on the top of this one – and the off the shoulder look it creates. Wide bands of lace add the prettiest detailing to the dress and sweet buttons add a little extra detailing at the wrists. A matching raw edged veil is a gorgeous addition.
A strapless dress with short cape is such a cute way to do an autumnal bridal gown. An intricately detailed bodice will sparkle through your ceremony, and then you can cover up by adding even more beauty to your look with a simple lace cape. I adore the big sparkling embellishments at the hemline that mirror the detailing on the cape too!
Striking appliqued detailing stretches down and reaches up in one smoot motion, like leaves of a plant, and mirrors the lotus flower theme perfectly. I love the illusion neckline, and there’s sweet capped sleeves hiding underneath that cape!
I love the flower detail on this skirt. Sparkling up from the hemline, the blooms almost dance to the bodice as they spread and scatter. The lace bodice is a gorgeous contrast, and those feathers… I think it’s so fun to add texture to your dress, and feathers add movement, texture and a little warmth for your autumnal wedding day.
A gorgeous sheer bodice and long sleeves gives a beautiful canvas for sparkling detail. I love the thick waistband that separates the illusion bodice from the striking white skirt, but the sparkling theme continues onto the skirt – a stunning look that combines a traditional shape with modern styling.
These designs are a fabulous mixture of mixing traditional styles with modern and detailed designer flair. If you’ve been inspired, head over Zuhair Murad’s website to see the full collection. You can see more of our favourite collections over on our luxury wedding dresses page.
