Blushing pink cheeks, quartz crystals and the awe-inspiring colours of a fading sun; pink has inspired Zuhair Murad’s Fall 2018 bridal collection. From classic ivory to powdered pink and blush, the elegant lines and intricate detail place the bride at centre stage. The collection celebrates ancient and modern weddings and the tradition that runs from yesteryear through to today.
Flowers appear in all shapes and sizes throughout the pieces, winding their way over the fabric, natural and untamed and blooming as embroidered 3D flowers, or delicately placed on sheer chiffon like a tattoo on skin.
Taking inspiration from the timeless elegance of Grace Kelly, Audrey Hepburn and Mia Farrow’s on and off screen weddings, each design shows a radical rethink of the classic bride. Silk chiffon, tiers of ruffles and airy lace create beautiful silhouettes, with the collection holding boleros, capes and veils to accessorise each gown.
As we saw on last year’s catwalk, capes and cover ups are nearly as important as the dress this year, and Zuhair Murad really ticks the box with some beautiful offerings.
